Completed in January 2010 after approximately six years of construction, the Burj Khalifa, standing at 828 meters tall with 163 floors, holds world records for the highest inhabited floor, the highest outdoor observation deck, and the highest elevator.

The tower's structure is inspired by the desert flower Hymenocallis, creating a three-lobed Y-shape – a design that significantly reduces wind load while providing natural light from three sides to each residential floor.

The Burj Khalifa is a multi-functional building. Below the 108th floor are the hotel, corporate offices, and 900 apartments. Above that, the structure narrows down to the technical floors, observation decks on the 124th and 148th floors, and finally the 200-meter-tall spire.

The estimated construction cost was approximately $1.5 billion. At peak times, more than 12,000 workers were employed at the construction site each day.

The Makkah Royal Clock Tower, part of the Abraj Al-Bait complex, is the tallest skyscraper in Saudi Arabia and the second tallest in the Middle East, standing at 601 meters. Completed in 2012 at a cost of approximately $15 billion, the Makkah Royal Clock Tower became the most expensive building ever constructed.

The clock faces mounted near the top of the tower are the world's largest, each measuring 43 meters in diameter and visible from distances up to 25 kilometers. The complex beneath the clock tower includes seven other hotel towers, with a floor area of over 1.5 million square meters and a capacity of over 100,000 guests.

The 425-meter-tall Marina 101 building, comprising 101 floors, is located in the Dubai Marina area and was completed in 2017 after numerous construction delays. At the time of its completion, Marina 101 was ranked as the fourth tallest residential building in the world. The entire tower functions as residential, with over 750 apartments, making it one of the most concentrated luxury residential towers in the region.

With its elongated shape, narrowing sharply towards the top, Marina 101 creates a unique silhouette against a skyline already crowded with skyscrapers.

The Al Hamra Tower in Kuwait City is the only Kuwaiti structure to make the top 10, and it also boasts the most unique architecture on the list.

The 413-meter-tall, 80-story building features an intricately sculpted facade that appears to open up from a perfectly rectangular base. The curved facade minimizes direct exposure to the south-facing sun, providing cooling in Kuwait's harsh climate.

Princess Tower (Dubai, 414 m)

Completed in 2012, Princess Tower held the title of the world's tallest residential building until 2015, before being surpassed by 432 Park Avenue in New York.

Standing 414 meters tall with 107 floors, the tower is located within the Dubai Marina complex and offers over 700 apartments, amenities including a gym, swimming pool, and reception services, along with sweeping views of the Marina waters and the Arabian Gulf.

The dome shape sets it apart from the neighboring towers in the Marina area.
