Ninh Binh focuses on improving key education

Ninh Binh province has a tradition of studiousness, and the quality of education has been among the top in the country for many years. The province has identified focusing on developing education and training, high-quality human resources, and attracting and employing talented people as its top priority and one of the three strategic breakthroughs of the province.

The province directed the Department of Education and Training to focus on improving the quality of comprehensive education; at the same time, pay attention to improving key education, contributing to affirming the position of the "learning land" Ninh Binh.

Ninh Binh province currently has 3 specialized high schools: Bien Hoa Specialized High School, Luong Van Tuy Specialized High School and Le Hong Phong Specialized High School. All 3 schools have been invested in spacious facilities and modern teaching equipment.

Before the merger, the People's Councils and People's Committees of the three former provinces of Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, and Ninh Binh all issued resolutions and decisions on policies to encourage learning for students of specialized high schools in the area. As a result, all three specialized schools have promoted their teaching and learning traditions and achieved many outstanding achievements.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province had 299 students participating in national excellent student competitions, of which 227 students won prizes, including 1 first prize, 54 second prizes, 81 third prizes, and 91 consolation prizes. In the recent high school graduation exam, Ninh Binh province ranked 3rd in the country in average score, with 3 subjects: Math, Informatics and Geography with average scores ranked 1st, leading the country; 1 student was the valedictorian of block A00 with an absolute score of 30; 1 student was the valedictorian with 39 points/4 subjects.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Hang, Principal of Bien Hoa High School for the Gifted, said that with the attention of the province, along with the efforts of teachers and students, in the 2024-2025 school year, the school made its mark with 63 national excellent student awards, including many high awards, continuing to affirm the school's position in the specialized sector nationwide. In particular, student Do Trung Kien excellently won the Gold Medal at the Abu Rayhan Beruni International Chemistry Olympiad 2025.

Along with that, many students have won high prizes in the provincial and northern coastal region excellent student competitions in 2025. In the coming time, the school will continue to innovate teaching, testing and assessment methods towards developing students' qualities and abilities, creating opportunities and conditions for them to develop comprehensively; promoting STEM education, digital skills, and artificial intelligence to contribute to improving the quality of key education.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Nam province (old) presented flowers and Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to the training teachers and students who won Gold Medals at the Abu Rayhan Beruni International Chemistry Olympiad 2025.

After merging administrative units, so that the combination of 3 specialized schools is not simply a pooling of resources but also a resonance of strength, creating momentum to bring the province's key education to new heights, right at the 2nd session, the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Council passed Resolution No. 07/2025/NQ-HDND dated July 30, 2025 on Regulations on scholarship policies and support to encourage learning for students of 3 specialized high schools in the province.

Accordingly, students from Le Hong Phong, Luong Van Tuy and Bien Hoa High Schools for the Gifted who are selected to be on the provincial team to participate in national, regional and international competitions for excellent students and scientific research will be awarded a scholarship of 1.3 million VND/student/month. Students who participate in provincial competitions for excellent students and scientific research and win third prize or higher will receive a scholarship of 1.1 million VND/student/month.

The remaining students are eligible for the study encouragement scholarship according to regulations, the scholarship level is 900,000 VND/student/month. In particular, in addition to the study encouragement scholarship, students of 3 specialized schools in Ninh Binh province are also supported with living expenses of 1.6 million VND/month and 2.4 million VND/month depending on the distance from home to school.

Preparing to enter the new school year, comrade Truong Quoc Huy, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ninh Binh province visited and worked with the Board of Directors, teachers, and excellent students of the 2024-2025 school year of Bien Hoa High School for the Gifted and Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Truong Quoc Huy acknowledged and commended the achievements of teachers and students of the school over the past time and in the 2024-2025 school year.

Promoting the achieved results, in the 2025-2026 school year, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the school to review the system of facilities, systematize the teaching plan, constantly innovate and update, especially apply information technology to improve the quality of education; strengthen scientific research, digital transformation, explore new teaching methods according to the motto "taking students as the center" ...; promote career guidance, discover, foster, perfect and maximize the capacity of students ...

For the students, the Provincial Party Secretary advised them to always try their best to study, along with studying and improving knowledge at school, they must promptly learn about reality, pay attention to practice to apply the knowledge they have learned to life; pay attention to physical training to promote their talents and knowledge to contribute to building their homeland and country in the future. In the current context of deep international integration, students should try to study 1 to 2 foreign languages ​​well to be ready to become global citizens...

In the coming time, the Provincial Party Secretary assigned the Provincial People's Committee to direct the Department of Education and Training to re-evaluate all facilities serving the teaching and learning of the school to advise the province on investment plans to build specialized high schools into educational institutions with synchronous, modern facilities, and systematic and specialized training quality to meet the development requirements of the province and the country in the new period...
