Ninh Binh develops rural tourism, attracts international visitors

(Dan Tri) - Ninh Binh Department of Tourism has planned to develop agricultural and rural tourism to create jobs and increase income for rural people through developing tourism services.

On November 13, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, the leader of Ninh Binh Province Department of Tourism said that the department has just issued a plan to develop agricultural and rural tourism associated with the national target program on new rural construction in 2025.

According to the plan of Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, the implementation of the task of developing agricultural and rural tourism in the new rural construction period 2021-2025 in the province aims to create jobs and increase income for rural people through developing tourism services.

Besides, it will contribute to the successful implementation of the national goal of building new rural areas; promote the shift of rural economic structure towards developing tourism services; enhance the effective exploitation of tourism resources, and promote the advantages of typical rural tourism products.

Local people directly participate in tourism services, increasing the rate of rural laborers who are trained and provided with skills. From there, gradually forming and developing the brand of some typical rural tourism products of the province, which are competitive with other localities.

Ninh Binh Department of Tourism stated that to implement the plan, the unit will survey the current situation, learn about the potential and strengths of each locality in the province to advise on the development of tourism services; at the same time, build tours connecting eco-tourism experiences, cultural identity, unique traditional cuisine, handicraft villages, etc. on that basis, coordinate with units and localities to complete tourism products and services.

The Department will organize a number of training courses to improve tourism skills and orientation on investment and business; skills and expertise in serving tourists for farmers in a number of localities; and build a professional, friendly, safe and civilized tourism culture.

In addition, the Department of Tourism of Ninh Binh province also organized delegations to visit and learn from experiences in localities with developed agricultural and rural tourism; integrated and organized promotional activities to promote destinations and rural tourism products at home and abroad.

The Department will also carry out activities to raise awareness and international cooperation on rural tourism development; compile and print documents to serve as guides, training and promotion of rural tourism products and services.

In October, the number of visitors to Ninh Binh is estimated at 624,660. Of which, domestic visitors are 502,027, international visitors are 122,633. Revenue is estimated at over 789 billion VND.

By the end of October this year, the entire Ninh Binh province welcomed more than 16.6 million visitors, of which domestic visitors were 14.91 million; international visitors were 1.69 million (of which rural tourism contributed a large number of visitors). Total revenue is estimated at over 21,000 billion VND.
