On January 9th, Mr. Dam Hai Van, Director of the Van Phong Bay Management Board, announced that the unit's rescue team had successfully rescued seven people from drowning while swimming in Nha Trang.
Rescue forces have brought many Russian tourists and Vietnamese citizens who were swept away by large waves in areas along Tran Phu and Nguyen Chanh streets (Nha Trang ward) to safety on shore.

Mr. Van stated that all incidents were detected early and handled promptly, preventing any loss of life.
The Nha Trang Bay Management Board advises residents and tourists to comply with safety warnings and to limit swimming during bad weather or rough seas to avoid unfortunate incidents.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on January 9th, the sea area off Khanh Hoa province will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with northeasterly winds of force 6-7, gusting to force 8-9, rough seas, and waves 2.5-3.5 meters high.
