Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang praised Ha Tinh's efforts in land clearance and securing construction materials, which contributed to the timely commencement and construction of the North-South expressway project.

On the morning of January 21st, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang led a working group to inspect the progress of the North-South Expressway Eastern section project (2021-2025) through Ha Tinh province.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bau Ha, along with leaders of relevant provincial and local departments and agencies, accompanied the delegation.

Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang and his delegation inspected the construction progress at the intersection of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway with National Highway 12C in Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district, and the intersection of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway with the extended Ham Nghi road in Thach Dai commune, Thach Ha district.

Reporting to Minister Nguyen Van Thang, Mr. Dinh Cong Minh - Director of the Thang Long Project Management Board (the investor of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang sections of the expressway) said: The unit is in charge of constructing two component projects of the expressway with a total length of over 89 km. To date, over 98% of the land has been handed over from the localities, meeting the construction requirements. Regarding construction materials, with 8 soil quarries and 3 sand quarries, the project is also being implemented on schedule.

According to Mr. Minh, during the construction process, the investor and contractor always received strong support and approval from local authorities and residents in the areas where the project passes through.

With the site cleared and construction materials readily available, the investor has instructed the contractor and supervisory consultant to mobilize maximum manpower and machinery to focus on construction. At this time, the construction progress is basically on schedule as set by the Ministry of Transport.

The Thang Long Project Management Board hopes that Ha Tinh province will continue to resolve the remaining land-related issues, especially regarding power infrastructure. In addition, they request attention to allocating more construction material quarries to support the project's construction.

Reporting to the delegation from the Ministry of Transport, Nguyen Van Thang, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai stated that the North-South Expressway project (Eastern section) for the 2021-2025 period, passing through Ha Tinh province, comprises three component projects: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, and Vung Ang - Bung, with a total length of over 102.38 km. To date, Ha Tinh has completed the land survey and compensation plan approval process at 99.7%, and handed over the land for project implementation at 98.33%.

Of the 30 resettlement areas, the province has completed 25, with the remaining 5 reaching 90-99% completion. The province has also provided the contractor with access to 11 construction material quarries for the project.

During the inspection, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the local authorities and people of Ha Tinh province in decisively and unanimously participating in the land clearance work and ensuring the availability of construction materials for the project.

"Among the localities with expressway projects in the 2021-2025 period passing through them, Ha Tinh is one of the localities that has implemented land clearance work most effectively. This shows the effective involvement of the entire political system, especially the important role of the Provincial Party Secretary and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee," Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang emphasized.
