The family of People's Artist Thái Mạnh Hiển announced that he passed away at 8:20 AM on June 22nd, at the age of 92.

His real name is Thai Van Hien. In the Vietnamese circus world, People's Artist Thai Manh Hien is considered a "veteran" figure.

He was born in 1932 in Hai Phong . In 1947, at the age of 15, he applied to join the "Heroic Capital Stage" circus troupe. In 1956, this circus troupe changed its name to the Central People's Circus Troupe, now the Vietnam Circus Federation.

In his final years, People's Artist Thái Mạnh Hiển remained passionate about circus arts. He compiled his extensive circus performance experience into teaching materials to guide future generations of circus artists.

Not only does he guide his two children to follow in his footsteps, People's Artist Thai Manh Hien also cherishes many projects to train human resources, hoping that the younger generation will have more opportunities to learn the best from their ancestors and absorb new values ​​from international friends.

He is the man behind the success of large-scale circus festivals and circus art galas, serving as both advisor and artistic director.

"The circus arts in the South currently have two strongest units: the Ho Chi Minh City Circus and the Long An Circus. Few people know that both units were primarily built up thanks to the efforts of People's Artist Thai Manh Hien," - People's Artist Le Tien Tho once said about him.

The Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association visited People's Artist Thai Manh Hien during the Lunar New Year 2024.

His passing has left many circus artists nationwide deeply saddened. In September 2020, the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper visited him and presented him with a gift from the "Golden Apricot Blossom of Compassion" program (now "Golden Apricot Blossom of Gratitude").

The funeral of People's Artist Thai Manh Hien will be held at the National Funeral Home in the South (5 Pham Ngu Lao Street, Ward 3, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City). The memorial service will be held on June 25th at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Phuc An Vien Cemetery Park in Thu Duc City.
