Nunez leaves Liverpool

British media outlets have unanimously confirmed that Darwin Nunez will leave Liverpool during this summer's transfer window.

Darwin Nunez will be forced to leave Liverpool after the 2024/25 season.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano further reported that the decision was made with the mutual agreement of both Nunez and the Liverpool management. Nunez is expected to leave Anfield for a transfer fee of over 70 million euros.

The 25-year-old star has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, particularly Al Hilal, who quickly contacted Liverpool to discuss transfer terms. Previously, Al Nassr had inquired about buying Nunez for €70 million in January 2025, but Liverpool rejected the offer. Currently, the Anfield club is using this figure as a basis for valuing the Uruguayan star.

Liverpool spent a record €100 million to sign Nunez from Benfica in June 2022. Recovering a significant portion of that amount is a priority for Liverpool, as the club plans to recruit another striker.

Despite interest from Al Hilal, Nunez is reportedly still looking to make a move to Italy or Spain. Currently, Napoli and Atletico Madrid are the clubs genuinely interested in signing Nunez.

Conversely, Liverpool are considering alternatives to Nunez including Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Benjamin Sesko, and Joao Pedr. Last season, Nunez only scored 7 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions.
