On the morning of February 3rd, General Secretary To Lam presented decisions regarding the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Central Party Office and congratulated Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Central Party Committee, on his appointment as Chief of the Central Party Office. Mr. Le Hoai Trung assumes the new position, replacing Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc.
Earlier on January 23, the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam elected Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc as a member of the Politburo of the 13th term and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee.
Mr. Le Hoai Trung was born in 1961 in Hue City; he holds an advanced degree in political theory, a PhD in Law, and a Master's degree in International Law and Diplomacy.
He was a member of the Central Committee of the Party for two terms (12th and 13th); and a delegate to the 15th National Assembly. Before being appointed Chief of the Central Party Office, he was Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department.
Mr. Le Hoai Trung is a professional diplomat with extensive experience in various areas of bilateral and multilateral foreign affairs.
Having risen through the ranks from a specialist in the Department of General Political Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), during his career he served as Third Secretary; Counselor, and Deputy Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations.
He served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from December 2010 and was reappointed in October 2014, after completing his term as Ambassador and Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations in New York, USA (2011-2014).
Mr. Le Hoai Trung is a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and has held the position of Deputy Minister and Chairman of the National Border Committee since May 2016.
In March 2021, he was transferred and appointed to the position of Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department.
In October 2023, at the 8th Conference, the Central Committee elected him as a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the 13th Party Congress.
