The Phu Quoc City People's Council unanimously elected Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, Deputy Secretary of the Phu Quoc City Party Committee, to the position of Chairman of the Phu Quoc City People's Committee for the second term, 2021-2026.

On August 26th, the Phu Quoc City People's Council, 2nd term, 2021-2026, held its 18th session (a specialized session) to consider several important issues and elect leaders for the City People's Council and People's Committee. At this session, the Phu Quoc City People's Council considered and dismissed Mr. Mai Huu Kich from the position of Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, 2nd term, 2021-2026, due to his assignment to another position. Simultaneously, Ms. Dang Thi Anh Dao was elected as Vice Chairman of the Phu Quoc City People's Council, 2021-2026. Following this, the City People's Council delegates unanimously elected Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, Deputy Secretary of the Phu Quoc City Party Committee, as Chairman of the Phu Quoc City People's Committee, 2nd term, 2021-2026. Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, born in 1973 in An Minh ( Kien Giang province ), holds a Bachelor's degree in International Trade Economics, a Bachelor's degree in English, and a Master's degree in Business Administration. He previously served as Deputy Chief of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee Office (2016-2020), General Director of Kien Giang Lottery Company Limited (2020), and Director of the Kien Giang Department of Finance (2020-2024). On August 19, 2024, Mr. Khoa assumed the position of Deputy Secretary of the Phu Quoc City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, the newly elected Chairman of the Phu Quoc City People's Committee, expressed his joy and emotion at receiving the high trust of the Phu Quoc City People's Council delegates. Along with this honor, he also feels the heavy responsibility he bears before the voters and people of Phu Quoc. Phu Quoc has become beautiful and prosperous, reaching international recognition; its infrastructure, education, and healthcare have all improved significantly. This is a shared joy and something to be very proud of. "Phu Quoc is developing rapidly and remarkably, but there are still limitations such as those related to the environment, land, and construction… These issues have left me with many concerns. We promise the voters and people of Phu Quoc that we will strive our utmost for a prosperous and beautiful Phu Quoc, becoming a national and international-level resort and tourism center," Mr. Khoa emphasized.
