The car caught fire while it was driving.

In Dong Thap province , a car caught fire while traveling on National Highway 30 in Binh Hang Trung commune, Cao Lanh district. The driver managed to escape in time, on February 9th (the 30th day of the Lunar New Year).

At around 11:00 AM, Mr. Tran Van Den, residing in Cai Nuoc district, Ca Mau province , was driving his car across Cai Beo bridge in Binh Hang Trung commune when he noticed smoke coming from the cabin. The driver managed to escape.

Nearby police officers used fire extinguishers to put out the fire. Locals used large sheets of cloth to cover the front of the vehicle in an attempt to prevent the fire from spreading, but without success.

The fire then flared up intensely and was only extinguished when fire trucks arrived. The blaze caused a brief traffic jam on Highway 30.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
