"I was very unfair to Doku," Guardiola said. "I remember the away games against Tottenham and Brighton. Without him, we couldn't have won."

Guardiola also explained why Doku is not playing regularly: "We no longer attack by using wingers. Currently, Man City prioritize using full-backs and players who play more centrally."

Doku has only made one start since the beginning of this month. He joined Man City from Rennes for a fee of 60 million euros, with a contract running until 2028. Up to now, Doku has played 36 times for Man City, scoring 6 goals and contributing 7 assists.

Guardiola added on Doku's form: "In the last few metres on the pitch he was unstoppable. I was very happy with his great performance in the 2-0 win against Everton. Doku moved, stretched the defence and got the ball into the box. His impact in that game was much better than at Old Trafford, where he was not in good form."

The Spanish coach hopes that with Doku's return, Man City will improve their attacking strength in the decisive stage of the season.
