Medical practice licensing will be decentralized to local authorities starting July 1st.

QNgTV - From July 1st, the authority to issue licenses for medical examination and treatment will be transferred from the Ministry of Health to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, according to Government Resolution 21.

Accordingly, the local authorities will handle all procedures such as issuing new licenses, reissuing licenses, renewing licenses, adjusting licenses, suspending licenses, and revoking licenses, including those previously issued.

The Ministry of Health no longer issues practice licenses, but retains the authority to grant operating licenses to affiliated hospitals and facilities with specialized techniques. The resolution also stipulates shortening the processing time for applications and increasing transparency in licensing. Notably, the practice licenses of doctors and medical staff will be integrated into the VNeID application.

The new policy aims to simplify administrative procedures and improve management efficiency in the field of medical examination and treatment.
