At the 2026 World Cup, England were drawn into Group L alongside Croatia, Ghana, and Panama. This was considered a fairly strong group, as both Croatia and Ghana were not easy opponents.
Speaking after learning about their opponents in the 2026 World Cup, England coach Thomas Tuchel affirmed that this is a "tough group" because both Croatia and Ghana are very strong and regular World Cup participants, while he doesn't have much information about Panama.
Coach Tuchel said: "No team can be underestimated at the 2026 World Cup. Croatia is a strong team, Ghana has many talented players who can spring a surprise, and Panama is formidable as the underdog."
Erling Haaland's Norway is in Group I alongside France, Senegal, and either Bolivia/Suriname or Iraq. The striker immediately stated that it is a "tough group." Meanwhile, Norway's coach Stale Solbakken is confident that Norway can beat Senegal and the remaining team (Bolivia/Suriname or Iraq) and can earn points against France to advance.
Meanwhile, Argentina's coach Lionel Scaloni expressed his absolute focus on their opponents Algeria, Austria, and newcomer Jordan in Group J of the 2026 World Cup. He did not want to speculate on which team they would face next, despite the media's enthusiasm.
"First we have to get through the group stage, then we can think about the next opponents. There are no weak teams at the World Cup. Any complacency will be costly," said Scaloni.
