At the 2026 World Cup, England fell into Group L with Croatia, Ghana and Panama. This is considered a quite strong group, as Croatia and Ghana are not easy opponents.
Speaking after learning about his opponents in the 2026 World Cup, England coach Thomas Tuchel affirmed that this is a "difficult group" because Croatia and Ghana are both very strong and regularly participate in the World Cup, while he does not have much information about Panama.
Coach Tuchel said: "No team can be underestimated at the 2026 World Cup. Croatia is a strong team, Ghana has a lot of talent and can create surprises, and Panama is scary as they are the underdogs."
Erling Haaland's Norway were drawn in Group I with France, Senegal and Bolivia/Suriname or Iraq. The striker immediately said it was a "tough group". Norway coach Stale Solbakken is confident Norway can beat Senegal and the other team (Bolivia/Suriname or Iraq) and can get a point against France to advance.
Meanwhile, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni expressed his absolute focus on his opponents Algeria, Austria and newcomer Jordan in Group J of the 2026 World Cup. He did not want to hypothesize which team he would face next, as the media was excited.
"First we have to get through the group stage, then we can think about the next opponents. There are no weak teams at the World Cup. Any complacency will have to pay the price" - Mr. Scaloni said.
