Today, many in the financial market often say "investing is a journey," meaning that the journey in the market has its ups and downs, and investors should pay attention to their long-term goals. In the context of a volatile economy , recognizing the key variables impacting the economy to build a proactive and flexible investment plan is crucial. Each individual needs to build a cautious and sustainable investment portfolio, carefully selecting investment products from reputable institutions, and managing risks effectively to suit their personal preferences.
Following the success of Season 1, the "My Portfolio" competition is being organized with the goal of standardizing the methods of building stock portfolios among VWA members worldwide. It aims to allow participants to share their perspectives on portfolio construction and evaluate the effectiveness of their own portfolio diversification, thereby contributing knowledge and experience to the community.
How to participate in the competition
Members write analytical articles about a portfolio of listed stocks on the Vietnamese stock market (4-7 stocks) and post them on the Vietnamese Financial Advisor Community Group.
Different members are allowed to analyze the same portfolio containing multiple stock codes (which may include duplicate stocks). A member can analyze multiple entries corresponding to different investment portfolios using different strategies.
Suggested content might include:
• How to determine your risk profile (your level of risk tolerance)
• The main risks that the author expects portfolio diversification to mitigate (macroeconomic volatility risk, industry-specific risk, business operational risk, governance risk, stock price volatility risk, etc.)
• Portfolio construction time, portfolio restructuring frequency (portfolio turnover), and reasons.
• Portfolio fluctuations through market and economic cycles.
• Investment performance and lessons learned from participating in the market.
• Analyze the industry factors that impact the company.
Time of organization
• August 12, 2024: The competition officially launches.
• August 12 - September 12, 2024: Submission period
• September 14, 2024: Announcement and awarding of prizes for the competition at the WeTalk program "What to invest in at the end of 2024?"
Judging criteria
• 25%: 1 Like ~ 1 point, 1 Comment ~ 2 points, 1 Share ~ 3 points.
• 75%: The quality of the essay is judged by the judging panel on a 100-point scale.
• The judges' decision is final.
Main Prize
• Investment Expert Award: 3,000,000 VND, 1 WiChart account with full features for 6 months worth 10,000,000 VND, Certificate of Merit and a gift from VWA & sponsors.
• Professional Investor Award: 2,000,000 VND, 1 WiChart account with full features for 6 months worth 10,000,000 VND, Certificate of Merit and a gift from VWA & sponsors.
• Promising Investor Award: 1,000,000 VND, 1 WiChart account with full features for 3 months worth 6,000,000 VND, Certificate of Merit and a gift from VWA & sponsors.
Consolation Prize
• Prize for the most popular article: 500,000 VND.
• Prize for the Best-performing Growth Stock Portfolio (during the competition period): VND 500,000.
VWA members participating in the competition will be given priority to attend the Wetalk program: “What to invest in at the end of 2024?” on September 15, 2024 in Hanoi .
Article submission guidelines
• Entries must include the hashtags #MyPortfolio #Danhmucdautu #VWA #Finavi #HSC
• Submitted articles should use clear and appropriate language, in keeping with Vietnamese customs and traditions.
• Submitted articles must be original and not previously published or broadcast on any newspaper, radio station, or social media platform, nor should they be submitted to other writing competitions.
• Contestants are responsible for the authenticity and accuracy of the content of their entries.
• The article must be at least 400 words long and include illustrative images or videos.
• The Portfolio Contest is just one source of information for making relevant decisions, and the purpose of the contest is to provide expertise and share practical experience.
