Three students were found to have used AI to solve math problems during the exam.

(NLĐO) - A representative from the Ministry of Public Security stated that they have discovered three candidates using AI to solve exam questions during the mathematics exam of the 2025 high school graduation exam.

At a press conference on the 2025 high school graduation exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training on the afternoon of June 27, Major General Tran Dinh Chung, Deputy Director of the Internal Political Security Department, Ministry of Public Security , provided information on suspected exam leaking and high-tech exam cheating.

Regarding the suspected leak of the math exam questions, Major General Tran Dinh Chung said: "Immediately after receiving the information, we took the lead in investigating and verifying the matter."

Three cases of candidates using artificial intelligence (AI) to "solve" exam questions during the math exam have been identified. These three candidates brought their phones into the exam room, took photos of part of the exam questions, and then used AI to solve the problems during the exam.

Regarding the violation in Lam Dong , Major General Tran Dinh Chung stated that the candidate used a camera attached to their sleeve to have someone outside the examination room solve the exam questions for them. To date, the police have identified the candidate, and they have admitted to the wrongdoing.

Authorities are consolidating the case file and documents, and will handle the violations based on their nature and severity.

According to Major General Tran Dinh Chung's assessment, this year's exam violations were detected infrequently and on a small scale. He affirmed that there was no information about leaked exam questions during the exam period. The fact that three candidates used AI to solve the exam questions did not result in any exam questions being leaked.

Previously, as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper, during the Mathematics exam (on the afternoon of June 26), a portion of a test paper allegedly appeared on an AI application platform thanks to its solution, raising suspicions of a leaked exam.

The Ministry of Education and Training subsequently stated that the National Steering Committee for the 2025 High School Graduation Examination had immediately forwarded the information to the technical department of the Ministry of Public Security to trace the origin and motive, verify the facts, and take strict action.
