During the period 2019-2022, the entire province implemented 79 projects linking production and product consumption. Of these, 47 projects were in the field of crop cultivation and 32 projects were in the field of livestock and aquaculture. These projects provided seedlings for the planting of 1,100 hectares of fruit trees, medicinal plants, and vegetables; and supported the provision of 64,000 breeding animals of various livestock, poultry, and aquatic species. In addition, the projects also provided support in packaging, labeling, product quality testing; and factory construction. Technology - production techniques... According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the implementation of production and consumption linkage projects helps agricultural producers access scientific and technological advancements, gradually changing their mindset in production, processing, and consumption, improving product quality and value, increasing income, and contributing to the fulfillment of criteria in building new rural areas.

The family of Mr. Ly A Ho, from Ho Chim 2 village, Ma Thi Ho commune (Muong Cha district), owns more than 2 hectares of hillside land, previously used only for cultivating traditional crops such as upland rice, corn, and cassava. After many seasons, the soil became depleted, and the yield and quality of crops decreased. In 2022, the People's Committee of Ma Thi Ho commune promoted the conversion of crop structure on hillside land. Mr. Ly A Ho registered to participate in converting 6,000 square meters of hillside land to cultivate winter squash. Participating in the collaborative project, Mr. Ho was introduced by the District Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to visit a winter squash cultivation model in Muong Cha town; he also received a loan from the Social Policy Bank to implement the winter squash cultivation model on land previously used for corn.

Strengthening coordination with businesses to prevent and combat intellectual property infringement.(PLVN) - Intellectual property infringement continues to be a "hot topic" during peak periods of inspection and control of counterfeit goods, accounting for over 40% of the total number of violations handled. Therefore, further coordination between functional agencies and businesses is needed to combat these infringing acts.

Mr. Ly A Ho said: "To date, I have invested about 100 million VND in this model to build trellises and install a smart irrigation system. With the active support of the district's agricultural officials, the pumpkin plants grow quickly and are less susceptible to pests and diseases. At the same time, the authorities have also connected me with businesses that guarantee the purchase of all the produce. This pumpkin variety can yield up to 10 harvests if well cared for; with the same level of care as my farm, I can harvest at least 6 harvests. It is estimated that with an area of 6,000 square meters, I will get 30 tons of fruit, selling at about 8,000 VND/kg; after deducting costs, the profit is estimated at 100 million VND."

Hang Lia (Dien Bien Dong district) is a mountainous, purely agricultural commune where the farming practices of the people are still backward, with small-scale, fragmented crop and livestock production, and spontaneous planting methods. The application of scientific and technical methods in agricultural production is still limited. Based on this reality and through research and testing, in 2019, the Dien Bien Dong District Agricultural Services Center, in coordination with the Provincial Agricultural Extension and Seed Center, implemented a project to support the cultivation of yellow pear trees in Hang Lia commune. The project covered 1 hectare with 5 participating households. The people received support in terms of seeds, agricultural supplies, and training in planting and caring for pear trees. After 3 years of project implementation, the pear orchards are growing and developing well; the survival rate of the trees is over 95%; and many areas have yielded harvests with relatively high productivity and output.

Mr. Vang A Nenh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hang Lia commune, said: "Through the yellow pear model implemented in two villages: Trong Dinh and Hang Lia B, the yellow pear tree is suitable for the local soil and climate conditions. In the coming time, the People's Committee of Hang Lia commune will integrate funding from national target programs and other sources of agricultural development support to expand the model and increase the area of yellow pear cultivation in the commune. At the same time, we will coordinate with specialized agencies of the district to link and cooperate with businesses and cooperatives to ensure stable market outlets for the product. Only then will the project achieve high efficiency and sustainability."

The model of growing winter squash in Muong Cha or yellow pears in Dien Bien Dong are just two of many agricultural production support models that have yielded high efficiency in recent years. In 2023, parallel to the implementation of production development projects using the province's agricultural development support funds, localities are focusing on implementing production linkage projects along the value chain using national target program funds. According to the capital plan, this year the total national target program funds allocated to the province for management and implementation is 969.313 billion VND. The entire province will continue to implement many production linkage projects along the value chain. This is an opportunity for people to open up new economic development directions, increase income, alleviate poverty, and rise to legitimate wealth.
