Exploiting potential and advantages

Mr. Phan Nguyen Hoang Tan, Provincial Party Committee member and Secretary of the Phu Thuy Ward Party Committee, stated: “After the merger, Phu Thuy Ward has an area of 17.31 km² and a large urban population. A significant portion of the coastal area is located within the Mui Ne National Tourist Area, approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1772 QD/TTg dated December 18, 2018. This has been a major advantage for local tourism development in recent years. The coastal area of Phu Thuy Ward has attracted 30 tourism projects that are currently underway, creating jobs for many young local workers. Located along the DT 706B tourist route, in addition to a complete commercial and service complex, there is also a 48-hectare plot of land ready for auction, attracting investors to build a commercial and service area, creating a modern urban landscape along this tourist route.”

To create a green, clean, and beautiful landscape, numerous youth union members and young people in Phu Thuy ward have launched several campaigns to plant trees and flowers along the coastal area to harmonize with the natural scenery. “Young people in Phu Thuy ward have planted thousands of purple crape myrtle trees on the hillsides and along the road leading to Lau Ong Hoang and Po Sah Inu Tower. In a few years, there will be hills of purple crape myrtle for tourists to check in before visiting the historical and cultural site,” shared Mr. Phan Nguyen Hoang Tan.

Along with tourism, trade and services have seen positive developments, initially forming service chains, tourism, and small-scale production facilities linked to local strengths. The entire ward has 10,127 businesses and households operating in various fields such as trade, transportation, accommodation, food and beverage, consumer services, construction, tourism, seafood processing for export, and traditional Phan Thiet fish sauce production, all bearing different business names and recognized as OCOP 3-5 star products, favored by domestic and international markets.

Meanwhile, the Phu Hai storm shelter and anchorage area has been upgraded by the province, providing safe anchorage for fishing vessels and facilitating offshore fishing. The supply of raw materials for processing frozen seafood and traditional fish sauce production is widely consumed in the market, increasing income for fishermen, businesses, and enterprises in the area. Trade promotion activities, business networking, and market development contribute to improving the business environment and better meeting the production and consumption needs of the people. Most households and businesses involved in seafood processing in the Phu Hai seafood processing cluster, as well as traditional fish sauce producers, comply with environmental protection regulations. The development of trade, services, tourism, and small-scale industries is on the right track, contributing to a total budget revenue of 856,788 million VND in Phu Thuy district during the 2020-2025 period, ensuring budget expenditures of 105,647 million VND.

The potential and advantages of the coastal area will remain a highlight for this locality in the coming years. The political report presented to the Phu Thuy Ward Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term clearly states that "the economic structure will shift towards gradually increasing the proportion of trade, services, tourism, and processing industries." In particular, coastal tourism will be developed within the overall development of the Mui Ne National Tourist Area; focusing on green, sustainable tourism, diversifying tourism products (services, resort tourism, health care; sightseeing, experiencing, exploring traditional craft villages, local cuisine, etc.) to create uniqueness and tourism highlights. Preserving the historical and cultural relics of Lau Ong Hoang, Po Sah Inu Tower, preserving fishing villages and craft villages, and protecting the coastal ecological environment will also be emphasized to stimulate tourism. At the same time, Phu Thuy Ward will invite large enterprises to invest in land exploitation and the development of tourism, trade, and services. Leveraging provincial resources, the locality is investing in synchronized transportation connections with Phan Thiet Airport to attract tourists. The locality encourages residents and businesses to invest in equipment for catching high-value seafood, not only for processing seafood for export but also for serving tourism-related cuisine. In addition, Phu Thuy ward is building an e-commerce infrastructure system, improving the quality of goods and OCOP (One Commune One Product) products to serve a wide range of tourists and vacationers.

Infrastructure upgrades

Infrastructure in the ward has been and is being comprehensively invested in by the province to support socio- economic development and the transformation of the local economic structure. Currently, the Thu Khoa Huan road is being upgraded by the contractor, connecting to the Ham Tien - Mui Ne tourist route, ensuring convenient transportation for a large number of domestic and international tourists visiting and exploring the historical sites and scenic spots of the Mui Ne National Tourist Area, or relaxing and swimming at the pristine beaches there. The Tran Hung Dao road will be widened at the end of this year to serve the increasing travel needs of residents and tourists; the Chau Van Liem and Ton That Tung roads, along with many internal roads connecting key areas in the ward, are being upgraded, creating convenience for residents and expanding businesses. Urban beautification of roads and parks is being focused on by Phu Thuy ward, gradually completing a civilized urban area, meeting the living needs of the people, and attracting a large number of tourists to visit and explore the beautiful coastal scenery.

Phu Thuy Ward has set targets for the 2025-2030 term:
Striving to achieve the annual and overall budget targets set by the province; mobilizing the people to participate in health insurance to reach 95%; maintaining national standard schools and national standard wards in healthcare; basically completing targets for digital government, digital economy, and digital society. Striving for over 90% of Party organizations and members to be evaluated and classified as having completed their tasks well or better each year; achieving a new Party member recruitment rate of 3-4% of the total number of Party members in the entire Party Committee. During the term, 100% of affiliated grassroots Party organizations and Party members will be supervised. The Fatherland Front and mass organizations of the ward will complete their tasks well or better...
