In his opening remarks, Mr. Pham Nguyen Toan, Vice President of the Vietnam Real Estate Association and Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Real Estate e-magazine, stated that after 40 years of Doi Moi (Renovation), nearly 950,000 businesses and over 5 million business households have contributed approximately 50% of GDP and created jobs for 80% of the workforce.

"More importantly, it's the rise of a class of national entrepreneurs, people who are committed with intellect and ambition, believing that wealth is not only for themselves but also serves the nation," Mr. Toan said.

According to him, the current challenge is how to make Vietnamese businesses truly "national businesses," not only bearing Vietnamese nationality, but also carrying within them a national mission and a spirit of self-reliance. To form this force, according to Mr. Toan, a strong transformation is needed, from vision to institutions, from capabilities to beliefs.

Dr. Le Xuan Nghia, a member of the Prime Minister's Policy Advisory Council and former Vice Chairman of the National Financial Supervision Committee, believes that the aspiration for prosperity by 2045 is not only an economic goal but also a journey to build a comprehensively developed, prosperous, and humane nation.

He affirmed: "If we want to be strong and self-reliant, we must have national enterprises." According to Mr. Nghia, the character of national enterprises is reflected in three values: self-reliance and creativity, daring to forge new paths; responsibility and humanity, linking interests with the community; and national aspiration, doing business not just for profit but for the future of the country.

"Only when we have businesses that master technology and manufacturing, and nurture the aspiration to reach international standards from within the nation, can we realize our aspiration of becoming a powerful industrial nation by 2045," Mr. Nghia said.

Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh, a member of the Prime Minister's Policy Advisory Council and former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs , believes that the aspiration for prosperity by 2045 is not only a shared aspiration at the national level, but must also spread to every individual and every business.

According to him, the Vietnamese business community, especially ethnic minority businesses, is a "vibrant" force to assert the country's position on the international stage. However, he noted that Vietnam has moved beyond the opening-up phase and is entering a repositioning phase within the global value chain.

Unlike South Korea or Japan, which once strongly protected domestic businesses, Vietnam had to choose its own path: nurturing and developing national businesses in an integrated environment, while simultaneously creating close links with FDI businesses and domestic value chains.

Experts at the conference agreed that the aspiration for prosperity by 2045 can only be realized when a strong national business force is formed, capable of leading the value chain and creating a self-reliant and sustainable economy.

National enterprises not only enrich themselves but also become a "pioneering economic force," contributing to affirming Vietnam's position in the new economic order. This is considered the foundation for the country to move towards the goal of becoming a developed, high-income nation by 2045.
