Not only do they play an exemplary role in building national unity, but ethnic minority Party members in the border district of Ngoc Hoi ( Kon Tum ) are also always close to the people, understanding their legitimate concerns and aspirations to promptly report them to the local Party committee and government for resolution. Through this, they contribute to socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security, and building a progressively developing district.

Thanks to the propaganda and mobilization efforts of Party members, Ms. Y Ai (on the right), from Ka Nhay village, Dak Nong commune, has earned additional income from improving her neglected garden.

Ka Nhay village, Dak Nong commune, Ngoc Hoi district, has 141 households and 524 inhabitants, nearly 100% of whom are of the Gie Trieng ethnic group. To help the people develop their economy and improve their living standards, the Party branch assigned 21 Party members to be responsible for individual households and groups of households. After being assigned, the Party members closely monitored the households, understood their thoughts and aspirations, and provided guidance and support to help them focus on economic development.

Ms. Y Ai, from Ka Nhay Hamlet, Dak Nong Commune, Ngoc Hoi District, said: "Previously, my backyard was completely empty. After being encouraged and persuaded by Party members, in 2021 I bought 30 jackfruit and durian trees to plant. After some time caring for them, I see that the trees are growing well, and the garden is cleaner and more beautiful. The jackfruit trees have been bearing fruit for over a year now, and this year the durian trees have started bearing fruit. I think this renovation of the neglected garden is very correct and helps my family earn more income."

Party members of the Ka Nhay village branch in Dak Nong commune regularly propagate and mobilize villagers to focus on economic development and work together to preserve their ethnic cultural identity.

Mr. A Minh – Secretary of the Party Branch and Head of Ka Nhay village, Dak Nong commune, Ngoc Hoi district, shared: Through assigning Party members to be in charge of households and groups of households, Party members have been able to fulfill their roles and responsibilities in propagating and mobilizing people to change their mindset and methods, and transform the structure of crops and livestock to increase income and rise out of poverty. In 2020, the village had 40 poor households, but now that number has decreased to 6 poor households. This result is largely due to the significant contributions of the Party members.

The Ngoc Hoi District Party Committee currently has over 2,680 Party members; of which, 1,184 are ethnic minority members, accounting for 44%. The district consistently maintains Party organizations and members in all 68 villages and residential areas. Party members in ethnic minority areas possess firm political ideology, clean and simple morals and lifestyles; they are exemplary and effectively carry out propaganda and mobilization work to ensure the people comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws; they also encourage the people to eliminate outdated customs and traditions and build a civilized way of life.

Ms. Y Tin, Secretary of the Party Branch of Giang Lo II village, Sa Loong commune, Ngoc Hoi district, shared: "The Party Branch always closely coordinates with departments, agencies, mass organizations, and local authorities to understand and know which outdated customs and traditions are appropriate or inappropriate, causing waste and expense, and then mobilizes and educates people to gradually abandon them. Currently, the villagers have gradually abandoned many outdated customs and traditions such as: offering prayers to deities when sick; the custom of finding a matchmaker when proposing marriage; the custom of betrothal with firewood; and abandoning the habit of long funeral and wedding ceremonies."

With the pioneering leadership of Party members, ethnic minority people in Ngoc Hoi district have demonstrated a spirit of solidarity and joined hands in building new rural areas.

With the enthusiasm and responsibility of the ethnic minority Party members, the Party Committee and the government of Ngoc Hoi district have contributed to achieving important results. In 2024, the district's economy continued to grow, with a total production value of 10,796 billion VND; average per capita income reached 61 million VND/person/year; and the district met 8 out of 9 criteria in the national set of criteria for new rural districts.

Mr. Pham Hai Chau, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ngoc Hoi District Party Committee, stated: The exemplary role of ethnic minority Party members has been promoted, especially those holding key positions in Party committees, government, Fatherland Front, and mass organizations at the commune, town, village, and neighborhood levels in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and resolutions of Party committees at all levels. Many Party members have emerged as shining examples in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology and ethics, and have been recognized and widely disseminated by local Party committees. This has contributed to promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national security and defense, and improving the material and spiritual lives of the people in ethnic minority areas.
