Implementing digital technology and innovation park projects.
Dong Nai province is focusing on attracting investment and establishing technology zones, concentrating on attracting investment in semiconductor, artificial intelligence (AI), and renewable energy projects, linked to Long Thanh Airport. Two key projects are the Long Thanh Digital Technology Park and the Dong Nai Innovation Zone.
According to the Department of Science and Technology of Dong Nai province, the department, in collaboration with relevant departments and units, has conducted a field survey of the boundaries of the area planned for the establishment of the Long Thanh Concentrated Digital Technology Park. To date, the department has completed the planning task dossier for the 1/2,000 scale zoning plan and is awaiting project appraisal.
This project is one of three high-tech, digital technology, and innovation zones under the Dong Nai Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. The project aims to create a foundation for the development of the digital technology industry, fostering linkages in the technology chain and the production of digital technology products within the province. The project is expected to cover an area of approximately 119 hectares across two communes: Binh An and An Phuoc.
According to many experts, the development of the Long Thanh Digital Technology Park will contribute to the development of Dong Nai's digital technology industrial ecosystem, as well as provide the locality with more opportunities to attract international experts and scientists to transfer high technology, connect data, and develop the digital technology industry.
Mr. Huynh Luong Huy Thong, Director of the Digital Data Center of VNPT Group, shared: One of the key areas that Dong Nai needs to focus on in developing smart cities is the development of digital technology services, e-commerce, and logistics connected to Long Thanh Airport, as well as improving the efficiency of urban infrastructure management, especially in new urban areas and airport urban areas…
Regarding the Dong Nai Innovation Zone Project, the Department of Science and Technology has surveyed the site and consulted with the Department of Construction on the preparation of a 1/2,000 scale zoning plan for this project, covering an area of approximately 300 hectares in Binh An commune.
Mr. Tran Giang Khue, Head of the Southern Office of the Intellectual Property Office, stated: Dong Nai has a strategic location, is an industrial "capital" with a large population and area, and is a dynamic economic center of the Southern key economic region. Therefore, the formation and development of an innovation center will contribute to the development of a network of centers supporting and transferring technology, promoting the development of the innovation ecosystem in Dong Nai.
Strengthening connectivity and unleashing development potential.
Long Thanh Airport and Phuoc An Port are two strategically located infrastructure projects that easily connect Dong Nai province with major markets in the region and around the world. This provides Dong Nai province with favorable conditions for developing integrated free trade zone models, aiming to become an international hub for logistics, technology, trade, and innovation.
Dong Nai province is studying the development of a Free Trade Zone project covering approximately 8,200 hectares to maximize the advantages of Long Thanh Airport, Phuoc An Port, and numerous industrial parks within the province. This complex free trade zone is expected to have four functional sub-zones: a high-tech industrial production zone; a logistics zone; a financial and commercial services zone; and an innovation zone.
During his visit to the Long Thanh International Airport Project on November 13th, General Secretary To Lam emphasized: The construction of an airport city and the surrounding development area must be planned and invested in comprehensively, and must be considered within the overall context to maximize efficiency. The planning must center around Long Thanh Airport, with surrounding areas developing high-tech industries, tourism, and urban areas… All must be synchronized to achieve effectiveness.
Comrade Le Truong Son, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, emphasized: The Long Thanh Concentrated Digital Technology Park project, the Dong Nai Innovation and Creativity Zone… are of particular importance in concretizing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation in the province.
Relevant departments and units need to proactively ensure that the project's progress and implementation process comply with regulations and align with local planning. At the same time, attention should be paid to the appropriate and effective connection with urban development projects and the Dong Nai Free Trade Zone Project to leverage strengths and potential when Long Thanh Airport becomes operational.
