Developing Party members among workers, including miners in coal mining units, plays a crucial role not only in supplementing resources and fighting strength for grassroots Party organizations, but also in contributing effectively to production and business operations within the units.
Formerly an open-pit coal mining unit of the Vietnam Coal Corporation (TKV), Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company has successfully shifted to underground mining at levels from -140 to -250 meters. Therefore, the company continuously builds a strong workforce of cadres and workers to meet the requirements and tasks of production. As a representative of the legitimate rights and interests of its members and workers, the Trade Union of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company has advised the Company's Party Committee not only to take good care of the workers' lives but also to do a good job in building and rectifying the Party. This includes focusing on identifying and nurturing outstanding individuals among union members and workers, recommending them to the Party for training and admission, especially the miners.
After graduating from the Vietnam Coal and Mineral College in 2017, Mr. Thào A Thênh (from Sơn La province) started working at Mining Workshop 5, Núi Béo Coal Joint Stock Company. In his early days working in the mine, Mr. Thênh encountered many challenges. However, with guidance from Party members in the Party branch and the trade union in Mining Workshop 5, Mr. Thào A Thênh gradually mastered the technology and consistently performed his assigned tasks excellently. In early 2023, Mr. Thênh received the title of "Skilled Worker" at the Group level, and at the end of 2023, he was admitted to the Party. Miner Thào A Thênh stated: "Being a member of the Party is a great honor for me, and I will always strive to learn and improve my skills to meet the production demands."
According to Nguyen Tien Nhuong, Chairman of the Trade Union of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company, the training and development of new Party members aims to create a source and supplement the force of young, qualified, and capable Party members to meet the requirements of production tasks. In the two years (2022-2023), the Party Committee of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company admitted 67 new Party members, including 58 miners. In the first six months of 2024, the Party Committee of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company admitted 7 new Party members, including 4 miners.
As a traditional unit in the underground coal mining industry, Mao Khe Coal Company continuously focuses on Party development, with the core being the team of miners. Nguyen Van Vinh, Chairman of the Mao Khe Coal Company's Trade Union, stated: Following the Party Committee's plan and targets for Party development, the trade union has directed its subordinate unions to introduce outstanding and exemplary members who are diligent in production, actively participate in emulation movements, cultivate good character, and adhere to the Company's policies and regulations, and who wish to join the Party. The trade union will then recommend these individuals to the Party Committee for further training and consideration for membership.
Mao Khe Coal Company currently employs a total of 1,450 miners working in 16 mining and tunneling workshops. Since the beginning of the year, the Mao Khe Coal Company Party Committee has coordinated the organization of one Party awareness training course for 44 individuals. The Party Committee has admitted 12 new Party members, including 8 miners; the company's trade union has recommended 3 more miners for Party membership. It is expected that during the upcoming National Day on September 2nd, the Party Committee will consider admitting 13 new Party members, including 4 miners.
Developing Party members among workers, including coal miners, has always been a priority for the Party Committees of member units under the Quang Ninh Coal Party Committee and the TKV Group Party Committee. This core group aims to supplement the ranks of young Party members with professional qualifications and political acumen, ensuring continuity and development, increasing the vitality of the Party, enhancing its leadership capacity and fighting strength, and meeting the production requirements of the entire industry.
From the beginning of 2024 to the present, the Party committees under the Quang Ninh Coal Party Committee and the TKV Group Party Committee located in Quang Ninh province have admitted a total of 346 new Party members, including 168 miners.
