Criticize 3 Departments of Transport for slow disbursement of road maintenance funds

Vietnam Road Administration said that in 2024, the estimated expenditure source for road economic activities for the management and maintenance of the national highway system is assigned 12,100 billion VND.

However, by the end of July 2024, the Road Management Areas, Department of Transport, and Project Management Board had only disbursed VND 4,600 billion, reaching 38% of the assigned estimate.

Departments of Transport re-establish disbursement plans for the remaining months, ensuring 100% disbursement of maintenance capital in 2024 (Illustration photo).

Of which, the Department of Transport of Tay Ninh province has only disbursed 3.75%, the Department of Transport of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has disbursed more than 13%, and the Department of Transport of Kien Giang province has disbursed 13%.

Criticizing the above-mentioned departments of transport for their very slow disbursement, the Vietnam Road Administration requested the directors of the departments of transport to focus on directing and clarifying the reasons for the slow disbursement.

The Departments of Transport also have solutions to overcome existing problems and difficulties and urge and accelerate the implementation of the maintenance plan to ensure 100% disbursement of the assigned capital, and report the implementation results to the Vietnam Road Administration before September 5, 2024.

According to the Vietnam Road Administration, some departments of transport are slow in disbursing funds for the last 6 months of the year. By the end of October 2024, they have not reached 80%, such as the Department of Transport of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the Department of Transport of Ben Tre , and the Department of Transport of Tay Ninh. By the end of November 2024, they have not reached 90%, such as the Department of Transport of Ba Ria - Vung Tau and the Department of Transport of Ben Tre.

The Department of Roads requested directors of Departments of Transport to review the implementation status and speed up the implementation of the 2024 maintenance plan, ensuring the general disbursement target for road economic career capital.

Departments of Transport urgently review, speed up implementation progress, re-establish disbursement plans for the remaining months of 2024, ensuring that by the end of October 2024, it will reach over 80%, by the end of November 2024, it will reach over 90%, and by December 31, 2024, it will reach 100% of the assigned budget.
