The Other Side of the City - Episode 2: Khue is insulted as a "bastard child"

VTV.vn - Episode 2 of "The Other Side of the City" escalates school conflicts as Khue is constantly subjected to jealousy and false accusations, while Cuong gets into a fight with Thai to defend his friend.

At the beginning of the episode, Cuong is upset that Khue has achieved a high academic award. Afraid of his mother's scolding, he sits quietly in a corner. Understanding his feelings, Khue invites Cuong out for a meal to cheer him up. Despite offering to treat him to a barbecue, Khue only eats cucumbers, fearing it will cost too much money.

While eating, Cuong received a call from Tien and accidentally put the call on speakerphone. When Tien asked, "Have you dealt with Thai yet?", Cuong immediately panicked under Khue's gaze and vaguely replied that everything was settled. However, upon learning that Thai hadn't removed the post, Cuong became enraged, cursed, and declared he would drag Thai behind the school to beat him up. Seeing his friend speaking so loudly in the restaurant, Khue gently advised Cuong not to make a fuss without proof. According to Khue, it's unavoidable that classmates might be jealous because he's a good student. But Cuong felt that Khue was being too patient and wanted to resolve everything himself.

The next morning, at Khue's house, neighbors came over to pick up their laundry, all praising his academic achievements. Many even suggested that Khue open a tutoring class for their children. However, being an introvert who was only used to studying, Khue politely declined. When his mother asked him to deliver laundry, he readily agreed, much to everyone's admiration.

Meanwhile, Thái continues to be compared to Khuê by his father. Mr. Thông bluntly states that he would be happy if his son could even "reach Khuê's heels." Despite receiving extra tutoring at various places, Thái still only ranks 15th in his class. This comparison only fuels Thái's hatred for Khuê.

Just then, Khue delivered the laundry to the address his mother gave him and was surprised to find it was Thai's house. As soon as Thai saw Khue, he grabbed him by the collar, pushed him to the ground, and mercilessly said, "Because of you, my father insulted me like a dog. A bastard like you is just a place for me to vent my anger."

Just then, Mr. Thong came out, and Thai immediately pretended to help Khue up as if his friend had accidentally fallen. Recognizing Khue as his son's classmate, Mr. Thong warmly invited him into the house, even offering Khue to tutor Thai. However, Khue refused and hurried away to continue his delivery work.

Back home, Khue diligently sat down at her study desk, while Cuong remained engrossed in his games despite his friend's reminders. Just then, an argument broke out outside. Thai's mother returned the white dress Khue had just delivered, claiming it had a large stain. She harshly criticized Khue's mother for her careless work and for still delivering the goods to customers.

Khue immediately checked the dress and confirmed that it was perfectly clean before being given to Mr. Thong. Hearing this, Cuong immediately suspected it was Thai's doing and asserted that someone was deliberately trying to sabotage Khue's mother's laundry shop. However, Thai's mother still angrily left, threatening to post a complaint about the shop on social media.

Unable to control his temper, Cuong immediately grabbed his bicycle and sped to Thai's house to confront him. Although Khue tried to persuade him to hold back this time to avoid further trouble, Cuong ignored her advice. When he encountered Thai on the way, he attacked him violently.

Shortly afterward, Cương's mother received a phone call informing her that her son had been in a fight, so she immediately took him to Thái's house to apologize. There, Mrs. Phúc demanded that Cương bow his head and admit his wrongdoing to his friend and the two aunts. However, Cương adamantly refused to apologize and instead accused Thái of wrongdoing.

Cương showed the video clip of Thái beating Khuê, insulting her as a "bastard" and "parasite," and also exposed Thái's deliberate attempt to stain his mother's dress to falsely accuse Khuê's family. At this point, Mr. Thông was shocked to realize that his own son was the real school bully and constantly causing trouble with his classmates.
