Permanent Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Dung inspected growth targets and public investment in Cai Lay district.

(ABO) On the afternoon of May 22, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Dung had a working session with leaders of Cai Lay district on the implementation of growth targets; finance, budget, public assets; public investment plans, non-budgetary investment; breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation in the district.

At the conference, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee Tran Ly Ngu Binh said that the total local budget revenue by the end of May 2025 reached 68,754 billion VND, equivalent to 46.3% of the Resolution; it is estimated that in the first 6 months of the year, this figure will reach 86,799 billion VND, equivalent to 58.5% of the Resolution. Regarding the district's budget expenditure, by May 19, 2025, 465,068 billion VND had been implemented, reaching 52.8% of the Resolution; it is expected that in the first 6 months of the year, it will reach 544,850 billion VND, equivalent to 61.9% of the Resolution.

Public investment capital disbursement up to now has reached 41,567/226,783 billion VND, accounting for 18.3% of the assigned capital plan; it is estimated that in the first 6 months of the year it will reach 132,839/226,783 billion VND, equivalent to 58.6% of the plan.

The disbursement progress of projects managed by the province is still slow because most of the projects are still in the stage of completing investment procedures. However, many projects are being accelerated and are expected to start construction and disburse soon. In the field of enterprise development, the district has 20 newly established enterprises, reaching 28.6% of the assigned target.

The number of poor households in the district is currently 392, accounting for 0.73%, higher than the Resolution's target of 0.68%. The health insurance coverage rate is 97.2%, equivalent to 98.9% of the Resolution. The district has achieved 100% of households having access to electricity and 100% of rural households using clean water.

In the health sector, the rate of communes and towns meeting the National Criteria for Commune Health is 31.25%, lower than the Resolution's target of 50%. However, the target of the number of doctors per 10,000 people is 5.16, exceeding the Resolution's target of 5 doctors per 10,000 people. The number of hospital beds per 10,000 people is 5.86, also exceeding the Resolution's target of 5.7 beds per 10,000 people.

In agricultural production, the 2024-2025 winter-spring crop has completed harvesting 5,754.61 hectares of rice, with a yield of 66.64 quintals/ha. The total area of ​​fruit orchards in the area is 15,732 hectares, with an output of 201,207 tons from the beginning of the year to date.

The livestock and aquaculture sectors also achieved positive results with 32,155 pigs, 1,135 cows, and 418,852 poultry. The total aquaculture area was 560.17 hectares, with an output of 19,347 tons.

Industrial and construction production value increased by 4.24% over the same period in 2024. Trade and service activities continued to remain stable, market prices were stable. Trade and service production value increased by 7.1% over the same period last year.

At the same time, Cai Lay district has actively implemented digital transformation plans, focusing on three main pillars. In the field of digital government, 100% of state officials and civil servants are equipped with computers and Internet connection. Applications such as TienGiangS, official email, document management software, and electronic one-stop shop have been put into effective use.

Regarding the digital economy, the district has supported the introduction of OCOP products to e-commerce platforms, creating favorable conditions for the consumption of local products. Digital social work has been promoted with the activation rate of VNeID electronic identification accounts reaching 72.5% and promoting cashless payments in many fields.

At the meeting, leaders of departments and branches of Tien Giang province and Cai Lay district reviewed and assessed the actual situation, thereby agreeing on key tasks and solutions to overcome difficulties and challenges, striving to achieve the highest socio-economic development and public investment goals in 2025.
