On the afternoon of September 12, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired an online meeting to listen to a report on the draft Decree regulating multidimensional poverty standards for the 2026-2030 period and proposed investment policies for the National Target Program on new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction for the 2026-2035 period.

According to the report, the multidimensional poverty line for the period 2022 - 2025 is calculated based on the minimum living standard in 2020, which is currently only about 80% of the minimum living standard in 2025 and about 66% of the minimum living standard in 2030 (expected), and there are no environmental criteria. Therefore, the promulgation of the multidimensional poverty line for the period 2026 - 2030 is necessary, as a basis for determining the poverty rate and achieving the poverty reduction target.

The draft Decree proposes two groups of criteria: income (rural 2.2 million VND/person/month; urban 2.8 million VND/person/month) and the level of basic social service shortage with 6 dimensions, 12 indicators, including: employment, education , health, housing, information, domestic water - sanitation - environment.

The national target program on new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction for the 2026-2035 period aims to build modern, comprehensive rural areas that adapt to climate change, linking socio-economic development with environmental protection and preserving cultural identity. The total resources for implementation are expected to be about 12.35 million billion VND, of which the central budget is about 360 thousand billion VND...
