Accordingly, an express document from the Government Office to the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province has the content that from May 31 to June 5, some press agencies reported on the destruction of natural forests in Duc Pho town during the construction of the North-South highway.
The Deputy Prime Minister asked the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province to direct the relevant agencies to verify and clarify the content of the complaint. Report to the Deputy Prime Minister before June 10.
An open public service route through the forest, including the forest area under the KfW6 . project
Previously, the press had many articles reflecting that Deo Ca Group made a public service route for the construction of tunnels 2 and 3 of Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon highway through the natural production forest of the KfW6 project, in sub-zone 334, Pho Cuong commune, Duc Pho town.
According to the report of the Forest Protection Department of Duc Pho town, the road is open through the forest, including the area of natural forest. The forest ranger of Duc Pho town determined that the location of the forest was cleared to open a road about 1km long at Lot 25, 26, Lot 8, sub-zone 334 of the KfW6 project. The area of natural forest destroyed is more than 7.541m2.
Also according to the report of the Forest Protection Department of Duc Pho town, at the location where the forest area was destroyed, there were 9 households in Thanh Son village, Pho Cuong commune participating in the KfW6 project and was granted a certificate of land use right by the People's Committee of Duc Pho town. However, about before 2016, this group of forest owners sold the entire area to Mr. Nguyen Van Bon in Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town and then Mr. Bon rented it to Deo Ca Group.
Working with the Forest Protection Department of Duc Pho town, Mr. Bui Hong Dang - CEO of construction and installation package 02, belonging to Deo Ca Group said that the company signed a contract to lease 15 plots of production forest land (which has been granted a land use right certificate) of Mr. Bon for construction.
In a recent interview with the press, Deo Ca Group confirmed that the public service route was opened based on the existing route of transporting forest products. The purpose of this public service route is to transport equipment and materials for the construction of tunnels 2 and 3 of Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway. The representative of this group also said that they do not know which project the forest belongs to!?
