
The delegation from the Party Committee of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau province visited and worked with the Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station.
Hon Chuoi Island currently houses a Border Guard Post, Radar Station 615, a Lighthouse Station, and a construction team for a pier. The island has 39 households with 147 inhabitants, facing difficult living conditions due to a lack of electricity and fresh water. Lieutenant Colonel Doan Cong Nghiep, Commander of the Hon Chuoi Border Guard Post, stated that the forces in the area have seriously directed and closely coordinated their efforts in protecting sovereignty and maintaining maritime security. As a result, the unit has been recognized as an "Advanced Unit." In addition to national defense and security duties, models supporting the people's livelihoods continue to be effectively maintained, contributing to the stability and improvement of people's lives.

Lieutenant Colonel Doan Cong Nghiep, Commander of Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station, provided an update on the implementation of tasks in 2025 and the first few months of 2026.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, highlighted the significance of the trip to the historical site and offered encouragement and support to the officers and soldiers performing their duties on the frontline island.
The Party Committee of the Department of Agriculture and Environment's activities in promoting awareness of the sea and islands aim to concretize the policies of the Provincial Party Committee and the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, thereby raising the awareness and responsibility of cadres, Party members, the people, and fishermen regarding the position and role of the sea and islands in socio-economic development and the protection of national sovereignty.

On Hon Chuoi Island, the delegation met and exchanged information with fishermen, assessing their production and living conditions; noting the difficulties in fishing and aquaculture in order to promptly propose appropriate support solutions.

At the charity class on Hon Chuoi Island, the Party Committee of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau province presented gifts to the students.
On this occasion, the Party Committee of the Department of Agriculture and Environment presented a printer with integrated photocopier worth 10 million VND and 5 million VND in cash to the Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station. They also presented meaningful gifts to the students of the charity class on the island, contributing to encouraging and motivating them to excel in their studies.
