A parent in Thanh Hoa got drunk and stormed into school to beat up a teacher because he heard his child say the teacher pinched his ear.

This afternoon (November 24), Mr. Nguyen Van Sang, Principal of Yen Tho Secondary School (Yen Tho Commune, Nhu Thanh District, Thanh Hoa ), confirmed that the incident of a parent storming into the school, shouting and threatening to beat a teacher at this school is true.

According to Mr. Sang, right after the 4th class period on November 23, Mr. Le Viet Hoa (living in Yen Tho commune, parent of a 7th grade student at the school) rushed into the school, screaming, and went into many classrooms to beat a teacher because he thought that this teacher had beaten his child while he was at school.

“We intervened and asked about the situation. Mr. Hoa said that a teacher had beaten his child, so he was upset and came to the school to resolve the matter. At that time, Mr. Hoa smelled strongly of alcohol, so we had to explain and promise to clarify everything before Mr. Hoa agreed to go home,” Mr. Sang said.

On November 14, the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province said it had asked the Tan Ky District Police (Nghe An) to investigate, clarify, and strictly handle those who broke into Le Loi High School (Tan Ky District) to cause trouble and beat teachers and students.
