"The school deeply recognizes this as a very regrettable mistake and a valuable lesson for the school to improve its organization and education ," the letter from Thai Thinh Primary School stated, offering an apology and expressing sincere gratitude for the feedback.
The "apology letter" appeared after images from the school's opening ceremony showing a list of nearly 20 underprivileged students receiving support for the new school year went viral on social media.
What's noteworthy is that the students' names and classes are publicly posted along with detailed notes about their family circumstances, even details about the students' and their family members' illnesses...

The public release of a list of students with special circumstances has sparked outrage on social media.

The image has attracted attention on social media, receiving many angry comments. Many people believe that the school should only read out the list of students who received gifts, as this is personal data. Publicizing it inappropriately could make the students feel ashamed and cause unnecessary negative psychological effects.
Some argue that schools are places where children learn to appreciate and love others, and that each individual's self-respect should also be cherished.
When the school provided all the information about these disadvantaged children, they asked whether the children felt sad, hurt, or ashamed in front of their classmates.
Associate Professor Tran Thanh Nam, Vice Rector of the University of Education (Vietnam National University , Hanoi ), believes that publicly disclosing the list of students receiving support, while aiming for transparency, lacks sensitivity and has many potential psychological and social consequences.
In particular, according to the expert, elementary school children are in the stage of personality formation and are very sensitive to the gaze of their peers. Therefore, being "named," having their impoverished circumstances publicly revealed, etc., can create feelings of shame and inferiority, causing them to lose confidence, withdraw, or avoid group activities.
