Not stopping at immediate care and support activities, the Women's Union at all levels persistently pursues a long-term goal: spreading love, creating sustainable livelihoods, and empowering women to confidently rise up using their own inner strength.
From thoughtful gifts and donated land to the community to effective economic models developed with preferential capital... all have contributed to creating a vibrant picture of the role, responsibility, and silent dedication of grassroots organizations.

Spread love through concrete, meaningful actions.
Recognizing social welfare as a continuous task, the Women's Union of Thach That commune and its affiliated branches always focus on understanding the thoughts and circumstances of its members, and promptly supporting those in difficult or unfortunate situations.
Throughout the year, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year and other major holidays, the Association organized visits to encourage and support its officials, female youth volunteers, families of policy beneficiaries, and women and children facing difficult circumstances, sudden illnesses, or serious diseases. 65 gift packages, totaling 23 million VND, were handed directly to these individuals, not only providing material support but also serving as a valuable source of spiritual encouragement, giving them more faith and strength to overcome life's difficulties.
The spirit of mutual support and compassion is also clearly demonstrated through activities to mobilize and support people affected by natural disasters. When typhoons No. 10, 11, 12, and 13 caused severe damage to many localities, the Women's Union of Thach That commune promptly propagated and mobilized its members and women to contribute, sending all the donated money and goods through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune to support people in the disaster-stricken areas. These contributions, though not large, embody a spirit of sharing and demonstrate the responsibility of the women of Thach That to the community and society.
Besides caring for those in difficult circumstances, the Chairwoman of the Thach That Commune Women's Union, Ha Thi Thu, said that the Union also actively participates in emulation movements to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
One of the outstanding achievements is the social mobilization movement for the construction of infrastructure in Thuy Lai village. Thanks to the persistent and flexible efforts of the Women's Association, 10 member households voluntarily donated over 150m² of land to expand important inter-hamlet roads such as the Ba Giang to Chua hamlet road; the Boi hamlet to Chua hamlet road; and the temple to Boi hamlet road. The total value of the donated land is estimated at over 6 billion VND.
In addition, members contributed 150 days of labor to build boundary walls to support households that donated land, worth 75 million VND.
The wide roads not only facilitate transportation but also open up opportunities for socio-economic development for the villagers.

In particular, the "Godmother" program continues to be effectively implemented by the Women's Union of the commune, becoming a loving support system for many orphaned children. During the year, the Union connected six orphaned children with sponsors providing 6 million VND per child per year, while also maintaining support for 15 orphaned children in particularly difficult circumstances with gifts and financial assistance worth 2 to 3 million VND per child.
In addition, the Association also presented 65 gifts worth 28 million VND to orphaned, disabled, and disadvantaged children. These handshakes and compassionate glances helped alleviate the pain of loss and instilled confidence in the children, enabling them to continue their education and look towards the future.

In parallel, the Women's Union of the commune has mobilized its members and women to actively participate in supporting various social and humanitarian funds, such as the "For the Poor" Fund, the Gratitude Fund, the Child Protection Fund, and the Education Promotion Fund, with a total amount exceeding 300 million VND. This resource has made a significant contribution to implementing social welfare policies in the locality, caring for vulnerable people, and encouraging a spirit of learning and self-improvement within the community.
The Women's Union of the commune also pays special attention to supporting the armed forces. The Union has intensified its efforts to promote and encourage families with children of military age (17 years old) to register for military service and to volunteer for military service in 2026.
To commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), the Association mobilized benefactors to donate 33 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, to the wives of martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers, and members affected by Agent Orange who are in difficult circumstances; at the same time, the affiliated branches also donated an additional 85 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND, demonstrating the principle of "Drinking water, remembering the source" and the responsibility of women towards those who have sacrificed and contributed to the Fatherland.
Partnering to provide livelihoods and create a foundation for sustainable poverty reduction.
Besides social welfare activities, the Women's Union of Thach That commune identifies supporting women's economic development and sustainable poverty reduction as a central and ongoing task. Through close coordination with the Social Policy Bank, the Union has facilitated members' access to preferential capital for investment in production and business development.
By October 2025, the Association will manage capital exceeding 88.6 billion VND, supporting 1,355 member households with loans. This is an important resource that helps many families expand production, increase income, and gradually stabilize their lives.
To improve the efficiency of loan management and utilization, the Association coordinated the organization of a training course on policy credit operations for the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and 100% of the heads of savings and loan groups. Two Association officials and all group heads participated in the digital security exam organized by the Social Policy Bank and all received certificates. Inspection and supervision were carried out rigorously in all 35 loan groups, ensuring compliance with regulations; overdue debts and outstanding interest were subject to periodic recovery plans, striving to meet assigned targets.

With the motto "helping the right people, doing the right work, meeting the right needs," the Association has implemented targeted and effective poverty alleviation support activities for women. During the year, the Association helped 30 out of 30 near-poor and disadvantaged households strive to escape poverty. Notably, 100% of near-poor households headed by women received support from the Association through various practical forms such as: assistance in building and repairing houses, donating household items, facilitating access to loans, providing labor support, livestock, transferring scientific and technical knowledge in farming and animal husbandry; and organizing visits and study tours of successful economic models for members.
Throughout the year, the Women's Union of the commune coordinated and organized numerous communication sessions, training courses, and technical guidance sessions on farming, livestock breeding, and production for over 1,000 cadres and members. These activities not only helped members improve their knowledge and production skills but also changed their mindset, encouraging them to boldly apply science and technology to develop their family economies.
Typical examples include the breeding cow farming model of Ms. Kim Thi Huyen (Noi Thon village). With preferential loan capital, she invested in developing livestock farming, gradually expanding its scale, increasing income, and stabilizing her family's life. Similarly, the duck farming model of Ms. Bui Thi Minh Phuong (Chi Quan village) has yielded clear economic benefits, creating a stable source of income, contributing to improving living standards, and becoming a model for many other members to learn from and emulate…
Beyond providing financial support, the Women's Union of the commune also focuses on promoting entrepreneurship and innovation among women. During the year, the Union organized six training sessions on the project to support women's entrepreneurship, digital transformation, the application of Industry 4.0 technology, and the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign, attracting over 600 participants including female business owners, traders, and women intending to start businesses. This helped members gradually access modern production and business methods, enhancing their competitiveness in the market economy.
In the field of vocational training and job placement, the Association proactively connects with workshops, restaurants, and businesses in the commune such as carpentry, industrial sewing, flower cultivation, mushroom cultivation, confectionery making, and service businesses, introducing jobs to its members and their children. In the last five months of the year alone, the Association introduced jobs to 92 workers, bringing the total for the year to 192, achieving 107% of the target, with stable incomes ranging from 6 to 12 million VND per person per month. This is a commendable achievement, contributing to solving local employment problems and reducing the need for women to seek work elsewhere.

In addition, the Women's Union of the commune, in coordination with the City's Women Entrepreneurs Association, supported the construction of a new house for a member from a near-poor household, a single mother raising three children in Hamlet 5. The new house is not only a sturdy place to live but also a great source of encouragement, helping the member feel secure in her work, raise her children, and improve her life.
With the achievements made, the Women's Union of Thach That commune continues to affirm its role as a core force in social welfare work, supporting women's economic development and building a sustainable community. The Union continues to innovate its content and methods of operation, effectively mobilize social resources, promote the leading role of women, and contribute to building happy families, a progressive society, and an increasingly prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Thach That homeland.
