News from the Provincial Border Guard Command, at 19:3 last night (June 6), the fishing boat BTh 97155 TS of Phu Quy district while operating at sea broke down, leading to sinking. Currently 1 worker is missing and has not been found.
Accordingly, this fishing vessel has a capacity of 748 CV, including 9 workers, practicing squid screen by Mr. Van Thanh Sy (born 1989, residing in Quy Hai village, Long Hai commune) as the boat owner and captain.
When the ship was operating in the area about 3 nautical miles from Phu Quy island to the southwest (coordinates 1033*12”N-108°54′43 E), it encountered strong waves and strong winds. As a result, the ship BTh 97155 TS was destroyed, leading to sinking. Currently, 8 crew members on the fishing boat have been able to swim to shore and are in stable health. The other crew member is Tran Van Tr. (SN 1, residing in Tan Hai village, Long Hai) disappeared.
As soon as the incident happened, the Provincial Border Guard Command directed the Phu Quy CKC Border Guard Station to dispatch the ship BP 11.19.01 to join the search for victims. At the same time, it is recommended that the Phan Thiet Coastal Information Station broadcast a notice to ships and fishermen operating at sea near the above area, if a rescue organization is detected.
