Binh Kien Ward suddenly rewarded 11 brave examples of saving people in the flood

The People's Committee of Binh Kien Ward has just unexpectedly awarded 11 individuals in Long Thuy neighborhood, who did not fear danger, contributing to saving the lives of hundreds of people during the recent flood.

From November 19 to 23, prolonged heavy rains caused floodwaters to rise rapidly, submerging 12/23 neighborhoods in Binh Kien Ward. More than 2,000 households were isolated in the sea of ​​water, facing danger every minute and every hour.

In that context, responding to the call of the Ward Party Secretary, Mr. Nguyen Minh Han, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Long Thuy Ward promptly mobilized 11 people and 5 vehicles (1 composite boat, 4 motorboats) to form an emergency rescue team.

Binh Kien ward leaders awarded certificates of merit to individuals.

Using rudimentary means and brave spirit, the rescue team waded in the freezing cold water for two days, November 20-21. Boats and motorboats continuously went upstream to deeply flooded areas such as Tuong Quang, Quan Quang, Minh Duc, Ngoc Phong and Tho Vuc to approach, evacuate and rescue more than 200 trapped people.

In appreciation of this silent sacrifice and humane action, the People's Committee of Binh Kien Ward decided to suddenly reward 11 individuals with outstanding achievements in rescue work.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Binh Kien Ward People's Committee Nguyen Quoc Thang acknowledged and praised the bravery and responsibility of the men. He emphasized: "This is not only a timely act of saving people, but also a shining example that needs to be respected and spread in the community."
