Hoan Kiem Ward offers incense to commemorate heroic martyrs

HNP - On August 20, the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee of Hoan Kiem ward organized a flower and incense offering ceremony at the martyrs' cemeteries of Mai Dich, Nhon and Ngoc Hoi, to commemorate the great contributions of the heroes and martyrs who bravely sacrificed for the peace of the Fatherland.

At Mai Dich cemetery, the delegation led by Party Secretary and Chairman of Hoan Kiem Ward People's Council Vu Dang Dinh offered incense to commemorate more than 1,200 martyrs and nearly 500 high-ranking officials of the Party, State, generals, intellectuals, and outstanding artists who devoted their lives to the revolutionary cause.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates respectfully bowed before the souls of their ancestors, expressing gratitude for their silent sacrifices for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hoan Kiem Ward Party Committee Truong Thi Thanh Nhan respectfully offered incense at Mai Dich cemetery

The second delegation led by Chairman of Hoan Kiem Ward People's Committee Trinh Hoang Tung came to offer flowers and incense at Ngoc Hoi Martyrs Cemetery. This is the resting place of more than 1,300 heroic martyrs who died in the resistance wars, built since 1993.

At the same time, the third delegation led by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hoan Kiem Ward Party Committee Truong Thi Thanh Nhan offered incense at the Nhon Martyrs' Cemetery, the resting place of more than 2,000 martyrs who sacrificed their lives throughout many historical periods, including prominent martyrs such as martyr Dang Thuy Tram and martyr Nguyen Van Thac.

Chairman of Hoan Kiem Ward People's Committee Trinh Hoang Tung and delegates respectfully observed a minute of silence to pay tribute to the heroes and martyrs at Ngoc Hoi cemetery.

At all three cemeteries, the delegations respectfully offered wreaths with the words "Forever grateful to the heroic martyrs" and observed a minute of silence to commemorate the contributions of those who died for national independence.

The incense offering activity on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day is not only a meaningful political and social event, but also an opportunity to educate the young generation of Hoan Kiem ward about historical traditions. Thereby, affirming the morality of "drinking water, remembering its source" of the Vietnamese people, at the same time continuing to arouse the spirit of solidarity and responsibility in building Hoan Kiem ward to be more civilized, rich and beautiful, worthy of the historical and cultural traditions of the thousand-year-old capital.
