In 2024, District 7 continues to strive to expand and upgrade at least 10 alleyways and complete the target of upgrading and expanding 50 alleyways during the 2020-2025 term. The district also continues to implement phase 2 of the pilot project to build green landscapes along ponds, lakes, and canals in conjunction with streets in the area.

On January 11th, the District Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of District 7 held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of several projects to upgrade and expand alleys and build new bridges in the district, in commemoration of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Party (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2024) and to celebrate the Year of the Dragon 2024.

Accordingly, District 7 celebrated the completion of three projects: upgrading and expanding alley 1248 Huynh Tan Phat, Phu My and Tan Phu wards (the section leading to Long Hoa Pagoda); constructing a new bridge in alley 1041 Tran Xuan Soan and launching a general cleanup and landscaping project along the Ap Chien Luoc canal (Tan Hung ward); and handing over the land for the construction of the project to upgrade and expand alley 88, Street 17, Tan Thuan Tay ward.

Specifically, the upgraded section of alley 1248 Huynh Tan Phat, which is 310m long and 2.7-4.7m wide, has been widened to 5-6m, with a total cost of over 1 billion VND, funded through social mobilization. The completed project improves traffic connectivity and ensures safety for residents in the area.

The bridge at alley 1041 Tran Xuan Soan, before its reconstruction, was 12.5m long and 3.8m wide, with a load capacity only suitable for non-motorized vehicles. Meanwhile, the narrow cross-section of the bridge frequently caused traffic congestion in the alley, restricting the movement of local residents. After the reconstruction, the new bridge is 76.9m long, 5.5m wide, and has a load capacity of 8 tons, with a total cost of 6.4 billion VND, funded through social contributions.

Residents are delighted that the 1041 Tran Xuan Soan bridge has been rebuilt and widened to better serve their transportation needs.

According to Le Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of District 7, along with the completion of the bridge in alley 1005 Tran Xuan Soan (in 2022), the completion and commissioning of the bridge in alley 1041 Tran Xuan Soan is of great significance. It not only serves the transportation needs of the people but also helps Tan Hung ward achieve its goal of replacing the temporary bridge across the Ap Chien Luoc canal, connecting traffic in the area to Tran Xuan Soan street and serving the socio -economic development requirements of the ward.

Mr. Le Van Thanh stated that in 2024, efforts will continue to expand and upgrade at least 10 alleyways, and the target of upgrading and expanding 50 alleyways will be completed during the 2020-2025 term; at the same time, phase 2 of the pilot project to build green landscapes along ponds, lakes, and canals connected to streets in the district will continue.

Building on the achievements of the past, on behalf of the leaders of the District Party Committee, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of District 7, Mr. Le Van Thanh called for the mobilization of all social resources, the combined strength of the political system, the synchronized and effective coordination of the Fatherland Front and political and social organizations, and especially the sharing and joint efforts of all strata of the people to create high consensus in donating land and investing in widening alleys under the "State and people working together" model. This will improve transportation; ensure fire prevention and control; improve environmental sanitation; enhance people's lives; and contribute to socio-economic development in residential areas.
