Chinese special forces demonstrated jet skis and other vehicles during a live-fire exercise at the Nanchang Infantry Academy in Jiangxi province on August 5, marking the 97th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
Chinese soldiers use electric skateboards to glide across the asphalt during training exercises.
In the video, several soldiers from the Jiaolong Special Forces – an elite unit of the Chinese Navy – are shown jet skis in a lake and on a grassy garden.
After locating their target, the soldiers abandoned their skateboards and proceeded to fire at the target inside a building. During this process, the commandos also launched several eagle-winged drones into the sky. Finally, the entire group of soldiers regrouped and drove away from the scene in pickup trucks.
During the exercise, the soldiers also demonstrated the use of a waterproof jetpack similar to the one tested by the British Royal Marines, a four-rotor surveillance UAV, and a remotely controlled UAV capable of tearing apart paper targets.
According to Business Insider, personal electric vehicles are now appearing on the front lines in conflict zones, although they are not widely used by other major militaries. Russian military news outlets recently reported that the Russian army has been using electric scooters to move between positions on the Ukrainian front lines, while also avoiding detection by UAVs.
