Military Region 7 inaugurates the Monument to President Ho Chi Minh

On the morning of September 2nd, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Party Committee and the Command of Military Region 7 held a ceremony to inaugurate the Monument to President Ho Chi Minh .

Attending the inauguration ceremony were: Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Comrade Nguyen Van Nen, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; General Vo Minh Luong, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense ; General Pham Hoai Nam, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense...

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Member of the Central Military Commission, and Commander of Military Region 7, stated that this is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), and the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of Military Region 7.

According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, the Ho Chi Minh Memorial is a cultural work with profound political , historical, and humanitarian significance, expressing the boundless respect and gratitude of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Military Command of the Military Region, and the officers and soldiers of the Military Region's armed forces towards President Ho Chi Minh.

This is also a significant location for the Party Committee and the Military Command of the Military Region to organize important events and offer incense to report achievements to President Ho Chi Minh. Through this, it educates all officers and soldiers of the Military Region's armed forces about traditions, patriotism, and loyalty to the Party and the beloved President Ho Chi Minh; contributing to promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style, and building a clean and strong Party Committee and a comprehensively strong, exemplary, and outstanding armed forces of the Military Region.

The Ho Chi Minh Memorial was built at the Headquarters of Military Region 7, with a total area of 2,150 ^m² . The statue of President Ho Chi Minh is cast in pure red copper, standing 7.9m tall and weighing nearly 15 tons; the pedestal is 4.6m high and 2.86m in diameter; the total height of the statue and pedestal is 12.5m.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial, the Commander of Military Region 7 requested that officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Military Region 7 continue to uphold and promote the glorious tradition of "unwavering loyalty, proactive creativity, self-reliance, and decisive victory" and constantly strive to achieve even greater accomplishments, worthy of the trust and love of the Party, the State, and the people.
