Quang Ngai is ready for the 2026 Tourism Festival.

VHO - Quang Ngai is urgently completing preparations for the 2026 Tourism Festival, an event expected to create a highlight in promoting the image, culture, and tourism potential of the locality, while attracting tourists and promoting socio-economic development.

On May 19th, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, Y Ngoc, chaired a meeting to discuss and provide feedback on the implementation of the Quang Ngai Tourism Festival Plan for 2026.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism's report, preparations are progressing on schedule. The department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to adjust the festival's schedule, submitted proposals for the establishment of the Organizing Committee, assigned tasks to its members, and issued invitations.

Communication and promotional efforts are also being intensified across multiple channels to spread the image of local tourism.

The highlight of the festival is the opening ceremony, scheduled to take place at 8 PM on May 30th at Pham Van Dong Square and broadcast live on VTV8. The event is expected to welcome approximately 650 delegates, including representatives from central ministries and agencies, provinces and cities nationwide, as well as delegates from four southern provinces of Laos, two northeastern provinces of Cambodia, and the tourism business community.

Alongside the opening ceremony, a series of large-scale cultural and tourism activities will take place throughout the week, showcasing the vibrant colors of the islands and the local identity. Highlights include the "Quang Ngai Soars High" artistic kite performance, an exhibition of maritime culture and heritage, a space for OCOP products and tourism souvenirs, and the "Quang Ngai Island Colors Carnival" street fashion and music festival.

In addition, there will be traditional boat races, weekend art programs, the Quang Ngai Tourism Promotion Conference, and many experiential activities at destinations such as Ly Son, Tinh Khe, and Mang Den.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing the implementation progress, coordination between departments, agencies, and localities; plans to ensure security, order, and traffic safety; and plans for publicity, promotion, and services during the festival.

They also emphasized close coordination in logistics, welcoming delegates, issuing invitations, and ensuring the event is conducted meticulously, safely, and effectively.

Communication efforts are required to be intensified before, during, and after the festival to widely disseminate the image of Quang Ngai tourism to visitors.
