Quang Tri: 433 households are isolated due to floods

By the afternoon of November 4, prolonged heavy rain had flooded more than 12,000 households in Quang Tri province, isolated 433 households with more than 1,300 people, caused 40 landslides, and forced 65 schools to temporarily close to ensure safety.

Mr. Tran Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Civil Defense Command of Quang Tri province directly inspected the field in heavily affected areas such as Truong Ninh and Ninh Chau communes.

In Truong Ninh commune, more than 500 households with about 1,600 people were deeply flooded, many places with water rising over 1 meter. Dong Tu village was the most severely damaged area. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited, gave relief gifts and directed the local authorities to "not let any household lack food, clothing or safe housing".

In Ninh Chau commune , Mr. Tran Phong inspected the shelter at the Community House of Huu Tan village, requiring ensuring adequate food, clean water, medicine, focusing on health care for the elderly, children and pregnant women, at the same time handling the environment, disinfecting after the flood and accurately calculating the damage to have timely support plans.

Currently, the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard maintains 41 teams/155 officers and soldiers along with 3 canoes on duty at flooded areas, coordinating with local authorities to check for landslide risks, support evacuation of people, and ensure absolute safety for people and property. The Border Guard continues to be on duty 24/7, ready to respond to any emergency situation.
