Specifically, the People's Committees of coastal communes and Con Co special zone coordinate with the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and the Quang Tri Maritime Port Authority to urgently count all local boats and vehicles operating at sea and along the coast. Organize calls and guide boats and vehicles to safe shelters; deploy necessary measures to ensure safety for boats at anchorages.
Quang Tri province requires localities to immediately deploy measures to prevent and combat storms at sea, on islands, coastal areas and on land. In particular, it is necessary to proactively reinforce and ensure the safety of houses and essential infrastructure works; carefully review plans, forces, and means, and prepare for evacuation and relocation of people from dangerous areas that are not safe when the storm directly affects or when there is heavy rain. At the same time, proactively deploy response, rescue, and relief plans to ensure timely and effective response when bad situations occur.
The Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police, and Provincial Border Guard Command prepare full plans, proactively arrange forces and means to be ready to deploy response, rescue, and relief tasks when required, ensuring promptness, timeliness, and effectiveness. Organize inspections of areas at risk of flooding, inundation, landslides, riverbanks, urban areas, low-lying areas, and unfinished construction works to have a plan to handle incidents when they occur.
According to the report, in the whole Quang Tri province, there are a total of 8,577 vehicles with 23,232 workers. As of 5:00 a.m. on September 27, there were 8,432 vehicles with 22,368 workers anchored at the port. Currently, there are 145 vehicles with 810 workers operating at sea; the vessels have grasped the direction of the storm and escaped from the danger zone.
