In the final days of the year, Rao Tre village, Phuc Trach commune ( Ha Tinh province ) is busier than usual. The villagers are working together to clean up their gardens, decorate their houses, hang the national flag, and prepare the Tet feast. In particular, in every house in Rao Tre village, the villagers carefully prepare and hang a picture of President Ho Chi Minh in the most prominent position. Thanks to the attention of all levels of government, local authorities, and the generosity of benefactors through practical Tet gifts, the Chut ethnic minority people in Rao Tre celebrated the Lunar New Year in a warmer and more fulfilling atmosphere. This also serves as encouragement for them to have more confidence and enthusiasm as they enter the new year.
For the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, each household here will receive an average of over 4 million VND in gifts and cash. Currently, Rao Tre village has 46 households with 160 inhabitants. Over the years, with the close guidance and support of the border guard forces, the Chứt ethnic people have gradually changed their way of thinking and doing things, learning to work and produce to improve their lives. From relying on nature, they have now proactively engaged in farming, livestock raising, and developing their household economies . These positive changes not only help stabilize people's lives but also create a solid foundation for them to confidently move forward and welcome new springs filled with prosperity and happiness.
These days, border guards and soldiers are joining the local people in making banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes)... ...visiting each household, giving out heartfelt Tet gifts, further strengthening the bond between the military and the people in the border region. Amidst the peaceful atmosphere of the Lunar New Year, the traditional cultural values of the Chứt people continue to be preserved.
A new spring has begun, a spring of faith, unity, and bright hopes in the village of Rào Tre.
