Born and raised in the same region of Gia Lai , Bui Thao Linh and Lieutenant Dinh Cong Nam had never met before. Their connection truly began when the final-year officer cadet coincidentally met the accounting student online. At the time, Cong Nam was doing his internship in Tay Ninh. Simple, heartfelt messages gradually drew them closer.

The day Công Nam finished his internship and was preparing to board the train from Saigon to Hanoi was also the first time the two officially met. Amidst the bustling station, their time together was limited to just 15 minutes before the train departed. No candles, no flowers, only the sincere gaze of the young man in military uniform and a hasty declaration of love. But that was enough for Linh to nod in agreement. Those 15 minutes opened a new chapter in their lives, even knowing that ahead lay the challenges of a long-distance relationship.
In 2024, their love officially began. With the maturity and responsibility of a soldier, Lieutenant Dinh Cong Nam gave Linh unwavering confidence. In January 2025, they decided to tie the knot.
Marrying a soldier sometimes comes with its drawbacks, but being the wife of a border guard stationed on an island requires even more understanding. The geographical distance and the nature of their work make reunions for the young couple rare. The biggest challenge came when Linh became pregnant with their first child. That was also when Nam received orders to participate in two important missions for his unit: A50 and A80. During her pregnancy, Linh suffered from frequent insomnia in the final months. Even with family support during her prenatal checkups, she couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness seeing other women with their husbands by their side.
Back home, despite the busy schedule, Linh manages everything herself so her husband can focus on his work. There are times when she sees her children longing to play and be held in their father's arms, and the young mother's eyes well up with tears, but she never complains, because she always understands and empathizes with her husband's work.
