According to Cadena SER , President Florentino Perez believes that the Erling Haaland contract will help restructure the club's attack. The Norwegian striker is expected to combine with Kylian Mbappe to create a formidable attacking duo.
Real Madrid have been chasing Haaland for years. However, after the striker extended his contract with Man City in January, "Los Blancos" decided to give up the deal. However, Real Madrid still see Haaland as an ideal center forward who can lead the club's attack in the future.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are struggling to extend Vinicius' contract, as negotiations have yet to progress. The Brazilian star has two years left on his contract with the club, but is demanding a new, higher salary to sign.
Vinicius has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia. League officials have been pursuing him since 2023, even offering a whopping €1 billion and a five-year contract.
Despite accepting an attractive offer from the Saudi Pro League, Vinicius still wants to continue negotiating for a higher salary with Real Madrid. However, many sources say the Spanish team is unlikely to meet this demand.
Real Madrid are scheduled to begin the 2025/26 La Liga season on August 19 with their opening match against Osasuna.
