According to Engadget, it's been nearly three years since news broke that Amy Hennig, former writer and creative director of Naughty Dog and Visceral Games, was developing a Marvel game with her team at Skydance New Media.
Recently, during Epic Games' State of Unreal event at GDC (Game Developers Conference), a new plot trailer provided more information about the game called Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.
As the name suggests, the game is set in France occupied by Nazi Germany during World War II. Players will control 4 characters in this action-adventure game with a strong Marvel storyline:
- Young Steve Rogers (later Captain America)
- Azzuri – grandfather of T'Challa (Black Panther of that time)
- Gabriel Jones – American soldier, member of the Howling Commandos
- Nanali – Wakanda spy
The trailer shows off the game's stunning visuals, with facial animations and in-game environments rendered in high detail, with familiar superheroes like Black Panther and Captain America fighting with shields. with the enemy. The trailer ends with both heroes facing each other on a bridge. Will they, along with Gabriel and Nanali, form an alliance to fight a common enemy?
It is known that Skydance New Media is using the Unreal Engine 5.4 toolkit to develop this game. Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra promises to bring an engaging gaming experience to Marvel fans next year.
