On the islands, for the past few days, naval officers and soldiers have been taking advantage of their free time outside of training to join youth union members, women's association members, and families in decorating the stage, hanging flags, flowers, balloons... and preparing the sound and lighting systems for the children's festival.

On Truong Sa Island, the central courtyard was chosen as the main venue for the activities. Many whimsical models, areas for traditional games, and a stage for cultural performances have been completed. Children enthusiastically participated in practicing dances and songs about their homeland, the sea, and love for the country under the guidance of officers and soldiers on the island. "These past few days, the soldiers on the island, along with our parents and teachers, have been busy preparing for Children's Day activities for us. The teachers also taught us new songs to perform. The soldiers even made toys to give to me and my friends," said Truong Nguyen Trieu Vy (11 years old), from Truong Sa Island.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huy Phung, Political Officer of Truong Sa Island, said that although living and working conditions on the island are still difficult, the Party Committee and the island's command always pay attention to the material and spiritual well-being of the children of officers, soldiers, and people on the island. Activities for International Children's Day are meticulously prepared to create a beneficial playground, helping the children have a joyful and warm celebration, thereby contributing to encouraging families to work with peace of mind and remain committed to building a stronger island.

On Sinh Ton Island, officers, soldiers, and their families cleaned up the environment, decorated the assembly hall, practiced performing arts, and prepared gifts for the children. Many group games, interactive activities, and quizzes with prizes were designed to suit the age group, creating a healthy and beneficial playground for the children. “For the officers, soldiers, and people on the island, caring for the children is not only a responsibility but also a special affection for the young generation in this island region. We hope that through these activities on the occasion of June 1st, we will bring the children much joy, helping them feel the concern of the Party Committee, the unit commanders, and the affection of the people nationwide towards Truong Sa,” shared Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Van Cuong, Political Officer of Sinh Ton Island.

According to the leaders of the Truong Sa Special Administrative Region People's Committee, this year's Children's Day celebration on the islands will feature a variety of activities such as: performing arts, group singing and dancing, painting competitions, folk games, democratic flower picking, cultural and artistic exchanges, and gift giving for children. Besides recreational activities, the islands also focus on educational programs to help children understand more about the traditions of the Navy, love for the homeland's seas and islands, and awareness of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland. Many meticulously prepared exchange activities between children and naval officers and soldiers aim to foster connection and demonstrate the deep concern of the Party committees and commanders of the units for the spiritual lives of the children of officers, soldiers, and people on the islands.
