Brilliant season of wallflowers

Every year, at the beginning of summer, some street corners in Son La city are lit up with the pink color of wallflowers. Although they do not bloom everywhere like red phoenix flowers or purple lagerstroemia flowers, each blooming wallflower clump brings a very unique beauty, both shy and radiant, enough to attract passersby.

Wallflowers bloom at Chieng Le Park, City.

With the characteristics of being easy to grow, suitable for climate conditions, and not requiring elaborate care, the petals are rustic and fragile but have the effect of blocking dust and filtering the air effectively. Therefore, the city has chosen to plant wallflowers on many streets, parks, and schools. This type of plant not only beautifies the living space but also contributes to improving the quality of the urban landscape, creating more cool green areas in the hot weather.

The bright pink color of the roses attracts many people to come and see and take souvenir photos.

These days, visiting Chieng Le Park, known as “The most beautiful corner of the city”, it is easy to see groups of young people coming together to take pictures, capturing moments next to the fragile, bright pink wallflowers. Some people wear bright clothes, investing in a whole photo album with professional photographers. There are also people who simply stand next to the flower bushes, smiling brightly into the phone lens. Either way, everyone’s eyes and smiles are radiant, blending in with the beauty of the blooming wallflowers.

Wallflowers have also become an “ideal backdrop” for young people who are passionate about photography. Mr. A Ho, a freelance photographer in the City, shared: Every wallflower season, I run shows continuously. The best time to take pictures with wallflowers is in the morning, from about 6 to 8 am, or in the afternoon from 4 to 6 pm. On average, I can take pictures for dozens of guests each day, and on busy days, 12 to 15 guests, from graduation photos, group photos, couple photos, to family photos. Through each photo, I also want to introduce the beauty of the City at different times and flower seasons.

Most girls choose ao dai or white dresses to take pictures with wallflowers.

Under the blooming bougainvillea trees, it is easy to see groups of young people wearing colorful dresses, taking souvenir photos, recording their youth through each frame. Ha Phuong Oanh, 20 years old, a student at Tay Bac University, excitedly said: This year, the bougainvillea flowers are blooming, creating a beautiful scene. The light pink color of the flowers combined with the sunlight creates a poetic scene that brings a sense of peace, relaxation and helps me keep beautiful photos to remember my student days.

Not only young people, many people also take advantage of the cool mornings or late afternoons to go to the park to walk and admire the flowers, or take some photos as souvenirs. Ms. Vu Thi Tuoi, Group 11, Chieng Le Ward, shared: Walking under the bougainvillea canopy evokes a cool, peaceful feeling. Just with normal sportswear and a phone, you can also capture beautiful moments of the city when the bougainvillea flowers bloom.

Summer in Son La is the season of flowers, of smiles, of gentle memories preserved through each photo. The shy wallflowers in the sunlight, the slow steps in the middle of the flower street, the innocent looks of the locals and tourists, all have contributed to creating a gentle, close and vibrant Son La.
