Taking place throughout the holiday period (from April 29th to May 3rd), the event brings together over 500 domestic and international brands across various sectors such as fashion , cosmetics, perfumes, watches, jewelry, sports, household goods, kitchen appliances, and functional foods, featuring many well-known brands. Goods at the event are strictly controlled for origin, product quality, and discount levels, ensuring full compliance with all legal regulations regarding trade and promotional activities.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Director of BigBang High-End Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (the organizing unit), said that the April 30th and May 1st holiday is considered one of the major "consumer peaks" of the year, when people's demand for travel, tourism , entertainment, and shopping increases. The second "Mega Sale Can Tho" in 2026, organized during this period, takes full advantage of the existing customer base, including both local residents and tourists from neighboring provinces and cities. In particular, the effect of deep discounts up to 80%, buy 2 get 1 free, buy 1 get 1 free... and concentrated promotions in a short time create a "don't miss out" mentality, encouraging faster and more decisive shopping behavior. This creates a "short-term boost" with wide-ranging impact, contributing to the recovery of the domestic consumer market's growth momentum.
At the event, the Adidas sneaker booth offered discounts of up to 50% and an additional 15% off (subject to purchase conditions). Other sneaker brands included Nike, Lining, and Kappa. Korean cosmetics brands OHUI, S:UM, and Whoo offered discounts of up to 30%. The perfume booth featured a wide variety of famous brands such as Chanel, Lancôme, Gucci, Dior, Versace, Narciso Rodriguez, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Louis Vuitton, and Montblanc, with discounts up to 30%. Clothing, shoes, and bags from brands like Lacoste and Guess were discounted up to 50%. Consumers could also choose domestically produced products such as Belluni, Oscar, and Pierre Cardin, with discounts up to 80%. Beyond discounts and promotions, customers could try products (cosmetics) and receive professional advice from sales staff at the booths.
Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, said: "Through the second Can Tho Mega Sale event in 2026, we continue to affirm the role of state management agencies in accompanying businesses, creating a transparent and healthy business environment; and at the same time ensuring the legitimate rights of consumers through access to quality products at genuinely preferential prices."
The highlight of the program is the harmonious combination of traditional commercial activities and the application of digital technology solutions. The participation of entities such as Viettel Post, VNPT, MobiFone, and the Green Transport partner SM contributes to the formation of a modern, convenient, environmentally friendly consumer ecosystem, in line with the trend of digital transformation and sustainable development. “This is clear evidence of the effective linkage model between the State - businesses - service infrastructure providers, contributing to enhancing consumer experience and increasing the value of the city's commercial activities,” Mr. Ha Vu Son emphasized.
