Each region will have its own unique culinary offerings. These experiential routes contribute to connecting regional tourism and promoting local culture through cuisine.

Following the delicious flavors of the heritage region.

In the "Danang Food Tour 2026" program, a series of culinary tourism products are being developed in depth to expand the experiential space to the south of the city and surrounding areas, connecting cuisine with local life, community livelihoods, and heritage spaces.

Beyond simply enjoying food, the city's tourism industry aims to position food tours as a journey of discovery into local culture, lifestyle, and identity. Products are designed to involve tourists in the entire culinary value chain, from ingredients and preparation methods to the setting and cultural narrative, thereby creating an authentic, in-depth, and unique experience.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the department is coordinating the development of tours that reflect the urban culinary scene with five main themes, ranging from fresh seafood, noodle dishes, and rice noodle soups; street food; "Central Vietnamese home-style meals" to modern cafes and bars, and dishes with authentic flavors.

Highlights include: "Da Nang Downtown Food Tour - Experience the Full Rhythm of the Coastal City," which features themed city tours offering experiences of fresh seafood, coffee, and snacks;

“Hoi An Food Tour - Tasting Heritage, Touching the Soul of Hoi An” combines experiencing characteristic cuisines such as Cao Lau and Quang noodles with a journey to explore the ancient town, traditional craft villages, and community tourism activities within the space of a world cultural heritage site;

“Dien Ban Food Tour - Preserving the Soul of the Countryside in Every Flavor” introduces local specialties such as Cau Mong roasted veal, Phu Chiem Quang noodles, Dien Phuong snails, Go Noi rice cakes, combined with eco-tourism experiences and community-based tourism models...

According to Ms. Nguyen Cuc Phuong, owner of a chain of restaurants on Tran Phu Street (Hai Chau Ward), the city's organization of food festivals and the development of food tour routes are expected to create a positive effect on food businesses, especially during the summer tourist season.

Ms. Phuong said that previously, many tourists ate according to their personal preferences without a specific plan. However, with the development of well-structured food tours, combined with promotion on digital platforms and social media, tourists tend to proactively seek out distinctive culinary establishments, especially those featuring regional flavors. This gives restaurants more opportunities to reach new customers, increase revenue, and promote their brand.

Connecting with new customer streams

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Operations Manager of All Seasons Da Nang restaurant (Nguyen Van Thoai Street, An Hai Ward), believes that local cuisine plays a very important role in positioning the image of a destination for tourists. Besides sightseeing, tourists want to experience characteristic dishes to better understand the culture, people, and identity of the locality. Therefore, cuisine becomes a highlight of the region in the hearts of tourists.

Integrating culinary experiences into travel itineraries creates opportunities for local restaurants to promote their brands and reach a diverse customer base. Food tours also allow visitors to enjoy food while exploring local life, culture, and rhythms. This is seen as a way to extend the length of stay and enhance the experience for tourists visiting Da Nang.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, General Director of Viet Angroup, believes that food tours open up a promising direction for Da Nang tourism, in the context of tourists' increasing interest in experiencing local culture.

Da Nang has a great advantage in possessing a diverse culinary ecosystem, from seafood and street food to Central Vietnamese specialties with a distinct regional flavor.

Creating food tours like the Da Nang Downtown Food Tour, or connecting with Hoi An, Dien Ban, Dai Loc, and Tam Ky, helps promote delicious dishes while creating a linked chain of experiences between localities, making it easier for tourists to explore cuisine without spending a lot of time searching for information.

"This is also an opportunity for tourism businesses, restaurants, and localities to collaborate in developing unique products and enhancing the competitiveness of Da Nang tourism and the Central region," Mr. Tam shared.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with its long coastline and rich coastal cultural ecosystem, food tour activities are expected to be launched from May 2026 and organized throughout the year, contributing to the formation of a regional culinary tourism product system, diversifying experiences and enhancing the attractiveness of Da Nang as a destination.
