Midfielder Federico Valverde has denied reports that he refused to play right-back in the 5-0 victory over Kairat Almaty in the Champions League on October 1st.

Valverde's dedication and commitment are a testament to his loyalty to Real Madrid.

In a post on his personal page, the 27-year-old player expressed: “I’ve read many articles that have damaged my image. I know I’ve had bad games and I don’t hide that. I’m really upset.”

"You can say many things about me, but absolutely do not say that I refused to play. I have given everything and more to this club," he continued.

Valverde's statement comes amid rumors that the Uruguayan player refused to warm up with the substitutes before the match against Kairat Almaty.

El Pais even revealed that Valverde showed a defiant attitude when asked to come onto the pitch, standing on the sidelines with his hands clasped behind his back. Real Madrid's recent match in Kazakhstan took place without both of their regular right-backs, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dani Carvajal, due to injury.
