Today (October 30), according to information from the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), the Standing Committee of the University's Party Committee has agreed in principle to reorganize the Faculty of Politics and Administration by merging it with the University of Economics and Law. The Standing Committee has assigned the Board of Directors of VNU-HCM to establish a working group to develop a proposal for the merger. This principle was approved at the Standing Committee meeting of the Party Committee in mid-September.
The Faculty of Politics and Administration held its opening ceremony for the 2023-2024 academic year.
The Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) is currently undergoing a merger process, which includes seeking the opinion of the VNU-HCM Council.
According to the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, after the merger, the rights of students will still be guaranteed as per the commitments made. The training time, curriculum, and tuition fees for students admitted in the previous cohort will not be affected. The rights of students and faculty members will be guaranteed at the same or better level.
The Faculty of Politics and Administration is a unit directly under the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), established by Decision No. 212 dated March 12, 2019, of the Director of VNU-HCM, based on the upgrading of the Center for Political Theory. The Faculty has legal personality, its own seal, and its own bank account. On September 29th, the Faculty held its opening ceremony for the 2023-2024 academic year with 53 new students admitted to the Public Administration major. This is the third cohort, with a cutoff score of 20 (an increase of 3 points compared to the previous two cohorts).
Thus, after three enrollment cycles, the Faculty of Political Science and Administration has decided to merge with another member school of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.
