Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City, and Chairman of the City Election Committee, delivered a speech giving directions.

The conference aimed to comprehensively assess the achievements, identify limitations and difficulties, and draw lessons learned from the process of organizing and conducting the election in the area.

At the conference, Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, and Chairman of the Election Committee of Can Tho City, acknowledged and praised the efforts of all cadres, Party members, armed forces, and voters of the city who contributed to the overall success of the election.

According to the Chairman of the City Election Committee, the success of the election stemmed from the close leadership of the Central Committee and the City Party Committee, along with scientific coordination among all levels and sectors. In particular, this time the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee assigned approximately 140 deputy heads of city departments and agencies to directly support polling stations in residential areas, contributing significantly to monitoring the situation and providing timely guidance at the grassroots level.

Regarding the difficulties, Mr. Dong Van Thanh frankly pointed out the two biggest problems: population fluctuations in densely populated central areas and the high percentage of people working far from home in rural areas (20-25%), causing confusion in compiling voter lists. Based on this practical experience, he shared his expertise on using data from previous terms combined with police population data for cross-referencing, helping to accurately identify the identity and residence of voters, thereby resolving difficulties for polling stations in hamlets and areas.

Looking ahead, Mr. Dong Van Thanh requested that the People's Councils and People's Committees at all levels immediately begin consolidating their organizational structures and implementing action programs to put the Party's Resolution into practice. The central task is to strive for an economic growth rate of 10% in 2026, as targeted by the Central Government. Election organizing bodies must promptly complete archiving and financial settlements in accordance with the law, avoiding delays that could negatively impact the city's overall achievements.
